As a gamer who’s been following WWE for years, I can tell you that Judgment Day has always been one of my favorites. The bond between its members felt authentic and heartfelt, much like the camaraderie we share with our gaming friends when we’re deep in a campaign or battling it out online.
For several years now, Judgment Day has been a significant stable within WWE. Originated by WWE Hall of Famer Edge and later joined by Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, this group has undergone various transformations. However, some essential elements have consistently stayed put. This summer saw a dramatic shift when Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio betrayed the original members Ripley and Priest, sparking an ongoing feud between them. They’ll clash once more at WWE’s upcoming Bad Blood Premium Live Event in October. After being part of the group for over two years, Ripley is candid about her initial feelings following the split.
In an interview with The Wrestling Classic, Ripley expressed that Judgment Day felt like family to her. She shared that this event significantly impacted her career, providing her the confidence to perform in front of crowds. She added that she had a strong support system during this time, which made the experience incredibly emotional for her. It was reported that one member of Judgment Day was crying backstage after everything, and Ripley admitted it was her. She felt a deep sadness because the past two and a half years of her life had drastically changed, and she could no longer return to that time. They were not just colleagues; they were her family, and saying goodbye was difficult.
Initially, Ripley and Priest were expelled from the group, but they continued their journey with Balor, Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Carlito, and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Revenge for Ripley against the champ is imminent as she had vowed to Rhea. The duo, long-time companions, have sought comfort in one another and have recently united to form their own team, affectionately known as the “Terror Twins,” a name given by Pat McAfee during WWE commentary.
The roots of this phenomenon trace back to numerous rock bands in the 1980s, with Def Leppard’s guitarists Phil Collen and Steve Clark, Mötley Crüe’s bassist Nikki Sixx, and drummer Tommy Lee being some of the key figures. Although fans have had mixed opinions on its name, it becomes clearer when you look at their visual style and wrestling personas.
In your opinion, isn’t it about time for the Day of Judgement to occur and disband our current group? And are you content with Ripley and Priest departing from our circle? I’d love to hear your thoughts on X and Bluesky @haleyanne_ !
