WWE's Unholy Union Retain Women's Tag Titles at NXT Great American Bash

As a long-time WWE fan who’s seen my fair share of tag team battles, I must say that the Great American Bash event kicked off with a bang! The Women’s Tag Team Championship match between Meta-Four and The Unholy Union was nothing short of exhilarating.

In the initial phase of WWE NXT’s two-week Great American Bash tournament, the struggle for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships commenced. This contest pitted Meta-Four’s Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson against The Unholy Union comprising Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. Despite the warm reception given to Fyre and Dawn, the crowd remained fervent supporters of NXT stars Legend and Jackson. The Unholy Union attempted to keep Legend out of the fight initially, but eventually, her formidable presence was felt. It seemed like Fyre and Dawn might clinch the Titles at a certain point. However, the Champions’ unity proved too strong, resulting in Fyre and Dawn emerging victorious instead.

Before the bell had rung, Dawn and Fyre didn’t hesitate to take action against Meta-Four, skipping the formal introductions. Working in tandem, they managed to oust Legend from the contest early on, first pushing her out of the ring, then flinging her into a barrier beyond it. This swift elimination left Legend out of the initial round. Next, Dawn focused on Jackson, hurling her against the ring post. Throughout the skirmish, Dawn kept Legend at arm’s length and repeatedly slammed her head into the turnbuckle. As for Jackson, she received a powerful super kick to the head, leaving her disoriented.

In their wrestling match, Fyre attempted to shield Jackson, but Jackson retaliated with a swift kick. Unfortunately, this left Jackson isolated once more from his partner. Fyre and Dawn executed a powerful suplex on Jackson, but Legend managed to re-enter the ring and cleared it up, sending Fyre out of the ring over the ropes. In response, Jackson knocked Dawn down at ringside, marking a significant change in the match’s momentum.

In this re-telling, Unholy Union regains dominance by exhausting Jackson, keeping her separated from Legend. At one instance, Fyre prevented Jackson from tagging in, pulling her back to their side instead. However, Jackson managed to overpower Fyre and reach Legend. Legend then delivered a punch to Dawn’s face, followed by a clothesline and a series of knee strikes. In an unexpected move, Legend utilizes Dawn as a weapon against Fyre. After a powerful choke slam from Legend, Dawn kicks out before the count of three.

Close Calls

In the heat of our wrestling match, I delivered a devastating codebreaker to Legend, only for Fyre to follow up with a powerful splash and attempt the pin. However, Jackson intervened, slamming me down with a vicious sling blade. Fyre then executed a massive DDT on Legend, going for the cover, but Legend miraculously kicked out at two. Fyre unleashed an onslaught of chops, but Legend managed to hoist Fyre onto her shoulders. With Jackson tagging in, he launched his finisher, but I managed to interfere just as he was about to secure the win at 2.5. It’s a testament to our intense rivalry that no one can predict the outcome!

Initially, Fyre delivered an outside strike to Legend, followed by a powerful super kick from him. Then, Unholy Union executed the Evil Touch on Jackson, which proved to be the final blow for the challengers. Consequently, the Champions emerged victorious. This week, Unholy Union will appear on SmackDown, ready to defend their Titles against the previous Tag Champs, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.
