Walker delivers a line that might be seen as an Easter egg for Thunderbolts* fans, since he warns his comrades with, “watch out on your left” – a phrase that initiated Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson’s close bond in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

In an interview with EW, Wyatt Russell, who stars in Thunderbolts, disclosed that John Walker’s famous line “on your left” wasn’t initially part of the movie. Director Jake Schreier inserted this line during post-production, reportedly to provide a bit of extra dialogue when John Walker takes over, as he felt it was necessary to fill a gap.
