Having followed the series since its inception, it’s been an emotional rollercoaster watching Wynonna and her friends navigate the supernatural world of Purgatory.
As a long-time fan of supernatural dramas, I’m thrilled to my bones about Tubi’s announcement of the trailer release for “Wynonna Earp: Vengeance,” the upcoming movie on their platform. Having followed Syfy’s beloved adaptation of this series since its inception, it feels like a reunion of sorts. I’ve been an avid viewer and part of the passionate fan base, or as we fondly call ourselves, “Earpers.” Though the show didn’t always pull in big ratings, it left an indelible mark with its captivating performances from a charming ensemble.
Back in February, it was revealed that “Wynonna Earp: Vengeance,” a special episode of the series, would be released on Tubi. The special will be written by showrunner Emily Andras, and stars Melanie Scrofano (as Wynonna Earp), Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Dom Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp), and Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught) are set to reappear in their respective roles. Paolo Barzman, a familiar face from “Wynonna Earp,” will direct the special.
“Although I feel some apprehension, I’m predominantly filled with joy and anticipation as I prepare to wear Waverly’s shoes once more,” Provost-Chalkley shared. “I’ve been away from the set since we wrapped up, so returning will be quite an experience. But I keep reminding myself that if there’s a team I’d choose to go through this with, it’s this one.”
Wynonna Earp is adapted from the eponymous comic book created by Beau Smith, which is part of the wave of indie/Image comics from the 1990s that have been brought to life on television.
Emily Andras announced that “Wynonna Earp: Vengeance” will continue Wynonna’s story beyond Season 4. Doc and Wynonna have been on an exciting journey, while Waverly and Nicole stayed in Purgatory handling their own affairs. It promises to be intriguing as everyone may return home to face a significant challenge, potentially something never encountered before, which could be quite intense. The series will offer beloved character interactions and development, exploring the characters’ growth and the consequences of their past decisions.
