As a die-hard X-Files fan who has been following this series since its inception, I can’t contain my excitement for the new Funko Pop figures! It feels like revisiting old friends after a long hiatus, and I can’t wait to see who else will join the lineup. The thought of additional characters and monsters brings a smile to my face.
Approximately a decade has passed since Funko introduced Pop figures inspired by the renowned X-Files series, but now fans can rejoice as the long-awaited updates have arrived! Predictably, this new batch features Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, but we’re optimistic that more characters will follow in the future. Fingers crossed they’ll expand beyond The Cigarette Smoking Man and the 2015 alien to include other characters or monsters as well!

What is The X-Files Reboot About?
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the visionary filmmaker Ryan Coogler is currently working on a fresh spin of the iconic X-Files series under Disney’s wing. However, it seems that Dana Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, and Fox Mulder, portrayed by David Duchovny, may not be part of this new chapter. Details about the project are scarce at the moment, but it’s being marketed as a reboot, with no specifics about the direction the series will take having been disclosed yet. Creator Chris Carter has expressed enthusiasm for Coogler’s approach to the series, leaving us fans eagerly waiting to uncover more about this exciting new X-Files adventure.
Carter remarked, “‘Don’t I seem protective over it?’ they might ask. To which he replied, ‘Not at all, I’m eager to discover how others will use it.'”
There’s a possibility that Duchovny and Anderson could join the show at some point in the future. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Duchovny mentioned that he doesn’t often think about the series, but he still holds it dear to him and would be open to exploring new opportunities if they arise.
Instead of asking every morning where the stocks for “The X-Files” are, Duchovny admitted he doesn’t know what his character would be like now at his age. He finds it intriguing to ponder and mentioned that the show can tackle current issues just as effectively as it did in the ’90s. It all depends on Chris Carter or the other writers, and he’s always eager for new developments.
Gillian Anderson, who stars alongside Duchovny on The X-Files, hasn’t completely dismissed the idea of reprising her character.
For many years after finishing “The X-Files”, any time I’m interviewed about it, people ask if there will be a revival and my answer has always been no. However, this year, Ryan Coogler – an incredibly talented director known for “Black Panther” – has reached out to Chris Carter to express interest in revisiting the series. In my opinion, this is the perfect way for a remake to occur, as I believe he’s quite brilliant and innovative.
When asked about the possibility of her returning, Anderson admitted, “There might be an opportunity. Whether I’d participate is another matter, but ultimately, it’s up to him… However, I’m not ruling it out, because I find him quite impressive, and if he takes charge, I believe it will be executed exceptionally well. I may even make a guest appearance.”
