As a gamer who has been around since the dawn of time (or at least since the Xbox 360 era), I must say, 2010 was a golden year for gaming! The list of releases that year is nothing short of legendary. Fast forward to 2024, and it’s heartwarming to see one of those games, Breath of Death VII: The Beginning, getting a much-deserved remake.

View Urgent Forecast2010 was an exceptional year for exclusive games on Xbox 360, and one of those games is getting a remake next month. Games like Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, God of War III, Xenoblade Chronicles, Halo: Reach, Limbo, Civilization V, BioShock 2, Heavy Rain, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Super Street Fighter IV, Alan Wake, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, StarCraft II: Wings Of Liberty, Vanquish, Fallout: New Vegas, Super Meat Boy, Rockband 3, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Gran Turismo 5, and Call of Duty: Black Ops were among the many great titles released that year.
2010 was a bustling year, as shown in the list provided, and even though these games hail from an earlier era of gaming, numerous series are still thriving today. However, Xbox Live Arcade, a significant aspect of that time, has ceased to exist in 2024. Technically speaking, it was only terminated this year. Interestingly, one game from the Xbox Live Arcade, another title released in 2010, is slated for a comeback next month.
2010 saw the launch of Breath of Death VII: The Beginning by Zeboyd Games, a tribute to 16-bit Japanese RPGs in a humorous style. Similar to other Xbox Live Arcade games, it didn’t make a lasting impression initially, but now it’s being given another opportunity with a fresh remake.
Next month, I’m excitedly looking forward to the launch of Breath of Death VII: The Beginning: Reanimated, coming from Shadow Layer Games. Unfortunately, it seems that the release will only be on Steam, which is quite a letdown for Xbox fans who have been following and supporting this turn-based RPG since 14 years ago.
People using PCs who are intrigued can particularly look into the remake on December 12th. The game’s Steam page reveals that it has been completely overhauled, featuring improved visuals, a revamped user interface, a new soundtrack, and numerous other enhancements that take the original Xbox 360 exclusive into the present day.
As a gamer, here’s my take: “Revitalize our spectral champions – Dem the skeleton knight, Sara the ghost historian, Lita the vampire tech-whiz, and Erik the zombie royalty! Get ready for a heart-pounding post-apocalyptic journey across an undead realm that’s more lively than ever. Dive deep to uncover the enigmas of yesteryears!
