At last, there’s clarity regarding the timeline for players to revisit Cyrodiil, because The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has been confirmed as genuine.
Yesterday, Bethesda Game Studios officially declared they would be hosting a live stream on Tuesday (the fourth), which seems to suggest the long-awaited release of Oblivion Remastered is finally happening. During this live stream, both Bethesda and Xbox disclosed the news about the game, confirming something that had been speculated and leaked but not officially confirmed until now.
Oblivion Remastered represents a detailed return to Bethesda Game Studios’ initial release, featuring updated graphics generated by Unreal Engine 5 while preserving the foundation of the original Gamebryo engine.
The progress of the game is being spearheaded by Virtuos, while Bethesda Game Studios keep an eye on things. Recently, some images and symbols of the game were accidentally shared when they were momentarily viewable on Virtuos’ site.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that aside from the standard $50 game edition, there’s also a delightful Deluxe Edition priced at $60. Interestingly, this premium version comes with not one but two unique horse armor cosmetics, a subtle wink to the legendary Horse Armor DLC from yesteryears.
In line with anticipation, Oblivion Remastered comes equipped with its entire initial downloadable contents, such as the diverse content packs, along with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles add-ons.
Right now, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered can be played on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5. As an exclusive title from Xbox, it’s accessible instantly via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
If you haven’t played it before, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is the fourth main game in the Elder Scrolls series. This game is about a Daedric invasion into Cyrodiil, which is where the Imperials live and is the center of Tamriel. It takes place 200 years before the events of its successor, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
