Xbox Game Pass gets Retro Classics, a collaboration between Xbox and Antstream Arcade bringing over 50 older Activision titles

The collaboration between Xbox and Antstream Arcade is set to add Retro Classics, a collection of more than 50 classic Activision games, to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service, making them available for streaming.

According to a post on Xbox Wire yesterday, the Retro Classics collection now offers games such as Commando, Grand Prix, Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat, Pitfall, and numerous others. Starting today, these classic titles are accessible for free to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

In the long run, Retro Classics is expected to grow, as further improvements will eventually increase its collection to more than 100 games from both Activision and Blizzard.

Retro Classics can be accessed by subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Standard, or PC Game Pass in every region that offers the subscription service. Additionally, it comes as part of the Xbox Game Pass Core package in most regions, with the exception of Japan due to some unexplained circumstances.

To play older games on your Xbox console or PC, you should visit the store and search for “Retro Classics”. Once downloaded and installed, you’ll be ready to start enjoying the games. According to the press release, there are fresh achievements to unlock, which is great news if you enjoy earning achievements!

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the most recent lineup of games coming to Xbox Game Pass was revealed earlier today. Some of these titles include Metaphor: ReFantazio, which will be available on the service shortly.
