Xbox Game Pass Standard Launches at $14.99 Per Month

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit, the ever-evolving landscape of Xbox Game Pass has me both baffled and intrigued. The latest announcement about the discontinuation of the base console tier and the introduction of Xbox Game Pass Standard has left me scratching my graying beard in confusion.

Starting from June, Microsoft not only increased Game Pass prices but also declared that they would stop offering the fundamental console level of the subscription plan to new subscribers. Instead, this basic tier will eventually be replaced by the newly launched Xbox Game Pass Standard. Now, this new entry-level option has officially become available.

Microsoft has revealed that Xbox Game Pass Standard subscription is now accessible for console users, costing $14.99 monthly. The standard version will encompass all the advantages of Game Pass Core, such as online multiplayer access, plus a vast library of over 200 games, both first-party and third-party titles.

In our previous announcement, we mentioned that Xbox Game Pass Standard won’t offer day one releases. If you’re a new console subscriber and want access to these day one games, you should consider Game Pass Ultimate instead, which has a monthly cost of $19.99.

Previously this year, rumors suggested that Microsoft might introduce a less expensive version of their Game Pass service, which would operate in the cloud. Learn more about it by following this link.
