Xbox Game Pass Users Have One Week to Play One of the Best Xbox 360 Exclusives for Free

Xbox Game Pass users on both console and PC have seven days to experience one of the top Xbox 360 exclusives at no extra cost. The duration of this game is around three to four hours, making a week ample time not just to play it, but finish it as well. As it leaves Xbox Game Pass on May 15, subscribers can also take advantage of a 20% discount until then, allowing them to buy the game for $16 instead of $20.

This game, titled “Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons,” was initially launched in 2013. That year, it clinched the title of Best Xbox Game at the Video Game Awards (VGAs), now recognized as The Game Awards. Moreover, it received a nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction at the more prestigious D.I.C.E. Awards. Initially exclusive to Xbox 360, it hit the market on August 7, 2013. For approximately a month, it was an exclusive title for the Xbox 360 before becoming available on PS3 and PC on September 3 of the same year. However, the version accessible through Xbox Game Pass is the one released for Xbox One in 2015.

Upon its launch, the game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons received a Metacritic score of 90, ranking it among the top-rated games in 2013. For those who may not be aware, this was Josef Fares’ first directorial venture, and he later created A Way Out, It Takes Two, and Split Fiction. At that time, Fares had not yet established his own studio, so the game was developed by Starbreeze Studios, a company renowned for its Payday series.

In this game, two brothers, struggling to save their ailing father, find themselves embarking on a perilous quest to retrieve the ‘Life Water.’ Relying on each other’s strengths and courage, they grow stronger together. Along the way, they discover that true brotherhood means compensating for one another’s weaknesses and facing fears side by side. This is an adventure you won’t soon forget.

To make things clear, a new version of the game came out in 2024, available on the Xbox Series X and various other platforms. However, when Xbox Game Pass stops offering the game on May 8, it won’t be the remake, but rather the original one.
