Xbox Game Pass Users Praise New Free Game: “Best Game I’ve Played This Year”

As a seasoned gamer who has weathered countless storms of gaming trends and fads, I can confidently say that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a diamond hidden within this year’s rough gaming landscape. Having played it on my trusty Xbox Series X|S, courtesy of Xbox Game Pass, I find myself in agreement with the multitude of subscribers who have hailed it as the best game they’ve played in 2024.

2024 Xbox Game Pass subscribers highly recommend a recently added free game as one of the top games of the year. The Game Awards, held earlier this month, recognized PlayStation’s Astro Bot as Game of the Year. Since The Game Awards only considers titles released before November, December releases like those coming up next year won’t be considered until the following awards ceremony. Usually, this doesn’t matter much because December isn’t typically a time for significant game launches due to various reasons making it an unpopular month for major game releases.

2021 saw two significant game releases for us in December. One of them, Infinity Nikki, unfortunately cannot be played on Xbox consoles. However, the other one, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, can. As a matter of fact, this latter game is currently an exclusive to Xbox consoles and can be accessed through Xbox Game Pass. Had it been released a few weeks earlier, it could have made it into the running for Game of the Year. Although it might not have won, it would certainly have garnered nominations and considerations. This is largely due to the fact that by most reviews, it’s a strong game overall.

One of the most popular posts on the Xbox Game Pass subreddit this week is a praise for the game, stating it’s the best game the user has played throughout the entire year.

I’ve just finished The Great Circle in 40 hours… by far the best game I’ve played this year!

1) The high number of likes on the post shows that other people share this opinion, and some of the comments also express similar feelings. Moreover, it’s clear that this game is one of the top picks for many Xbox Game Pass subscribers in 2024.

“I’m still in the Vatican but I think I’m getting close to the next part,” reads one of the top comments. “I spent like 8 minutes last night whipping Blackshirts to death on the stairs leading up to Antonio’s library. They just kept coming. I wish I had utilized the whip more in combat before because it’s very funny. 10/10 game.”

Hey fellow gamers! If you’re keen on diving into Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on your Xbox Series X|S through Xbox Game Pass, be prepared to set aside a chunk of time – roughly between 15 to 25 hours for the main storyline. However, if you fancy exploring every nook and cranny, that time might swell up to 35-40 hours! Happy gaming!
