Xbox Games Showcase is 2 Hours Long, Microsoft Exec Says Not to “Overhype Too Much”

The Xbox Games Showcase is just around the corner, happening in less than half an hour! During this event, Microsoft will reveal games from their own studios and collaborators that they have planned for release. Additionally, there’ll be a special Direct focused on Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming title, “The Outer Worlds 2.”

Thanks to Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft’s VP for Games Marketing, we’ve learned that this year’s show will run for two hours, as it did last year. There’s a lot of speculation about which games might be featured, but Greenberg, in response to an enthusiastic Twitter user, hinted that while he’s looking forward to the event, fans shouldn’t get too carried away with expectations. He suggested they didn’t quite “set the house on fire” last year, meaning they put on a spectacular show.

This doesn’t guarantee that it won’t be an impressive event, given potential titles such as the Persona 4 Remake, Everwild, State of Decay 3, and rumors of others being included. Additionally, there’s always the anticipation for a possible Hollow Knight: Silksong reveal.

10 AM Pacific Daylight Time sees both the Xbox Games Showcase and the anticipated sequel to “The Outer Worlds” going live. It’s been whispered that Obsidian’s sci-fi RPG may unveil its release date during this event, along with fresh gameplay footage. Keep your eyes glued for further updates!

Looking forward to your presence at our upcoming event, a twin bill of the Xbox Games Showcase and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct! This exciting duo runs for 2 hours and kicks off in mere two hours from now. Check it out here: news.xbox.com/en-us/2025/06/30/xbox-games-showcase-and-the-outer-worlds-2-direct-set-for-june-30/
