Xbox Lets Users Try New Version of Xbox Game Pass for $1

As a long-time gaming enthusiast with a soft spot for Xbox, I must say that the latest development in the Xbox Game Pass saga has caught my attention. Being an Xbox Insider myself, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the new Xbox Game Pass Standard tier for just $1!

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that after unveiling the latest version of Xbox Game Pass last month, Xbox has now opened up an opportunity for us to test out this new tier at a discounted price! Rather than asking us to commit at full cost right away, they’re extending a special offer for Xbox Game Pass Standard at just $1 per subscriber. This is a deal we’ve seen with other Xbox Game Pass tiers in the past, aiming to draw in new gamers like myself. At the moment, this $1 deal for Xbox Game Pass Standard is accessible only to Xbox Insiders, but if you’re curious and want to join the club, it’s quite straightforward to become an insider!

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got to admit, the unveiling of the Xbox Game Pass Standard wasn’t the smoothest sailing, especially alongside other adjustments like hikes in the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The response from subscribers was far from positive, let me tell you!

As a thrilled supporter, I must say it’s a delight for those unaware about this latest offering to learn that it’s quite accessible. Unlike Xbox Game Pass Core, which offers around 30 games, Xbox Game Pass Standard is set to launch with “hundreds of fantastic games.” Moreover, the company promises member discounts and online multiplayer, but the key difference compared to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate lies in the exclusion of day-one games. Titles such as “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle“, “Doom: The Dark Ages“, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6“, and other first-party games won’t be part of Xbox Game Pass Standard at their launch, although there’s always a chance they could be added later.

“Xbox Game Pass Ultimate may have some games (either day one releases or additional game titles) that won’t become immediately accessible on the standard version of Xbox Game Pass. These games might be included in the library at a later date, anywhere from a few months to over a year, depending on the title. Rest assured, we will keep you informed when these games are added and when they can be played under each subscription plan.”

Initially, the monthly fee for Xbox Game Pass Standard is set at $14.99, however, for Xbox Insiders, the cost has been temporarily reduced to $1 per month. Additionally, renewals are currently priced at just $1 as well. It’s uncertain if or how long this discounted rate will be available should you choose to continue your membership subscription.

Xbox Insiders are currently able to claim this offer using their Xbox Insider app. If you’re interested in becoming an Xbox Insider, you can find information on how to join here.
