Xbox to Put PS5 Logos in Future Showcases, Says Phil Spencer

Microsoft’s head, Phil Spencer, has shared that upcoming live events and presentations from his company will include logos of PlayStation and Nintendo when necessary. In an interview with XboxEra, he clarified that this approach aims to maintain “openness and transparency about where the games are being released.” This means that during Microsoft’s anticipated Xbox Games Showcase in the summer, viewers will immediately know if a port for PS5 is in the works.

Last year during their planning for the June livestream, Spencer mentions that the Xbox team considered discussing DOOM: The Dark Ages. However, they weren’t able to gather all necessary resources before finalizing the decision. Consequently, DOOM: The Dark Ages was unveiled exclusively for PS5 just after the digital event had concluded.

As a devoted gamer myself, I’m all about keeping things honest. When it comes to releasing our games on the Nintendo Switch, that’s where they’ll be. For PlayStation and Steam, you’ll find our titles there too, but I want everyone to immerse themselves in the Xbox community through our games and offerings, wherever they choose to play.

It appears that recent whispers and speculations strongly indicate that Microsoft might extensively feature PlayStation logos in its trailers this year. Games like Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, and Age of Mythology: Retold have been confirmed for the PS5 and are due out soon. Additionally, there have been numerous rumors about ports of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Gears of War, and Senua’s Sage: Hellblade II. Microsoft is also said to be planning to release future titles such as DOOM: The Dark Ages and The Outer Worlds 2 on Sony’s current-generation system.
