Xbox’s New Mystery Controller Surfaces on Amazon

As an analyst, I’m thrilled to share some intriguing news for Xbox enthusiasts. Thanks to my vigilant scanning, I’ve discovered that a new controller is on the horizon and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The price tag stands at $74.99, with an anticipated delivery date set for February 18.

Although the product details are scarce at the moment, the excitement surrounding this mystery controller is palpable. Could it be a fresh colorway, a limited-edition design, or even something more innovative? Only time will tell as I anticipate an official announcement in the coming days. In the meantime, the suspense might prove too much to bear, but for those who can’t resist the allure of the unknown, placing an order could be the perfect solution!

Before you get too excited

This is not the long-awaited mythical Sebile controller we’ve been anticipating, and to be honest, its price point doesn’t align with those high-end haptic trousers. More likely, given its MSRP of $74.99, it appears to be another Special Edition variant of the standard Xbox Series X|S controller, a pattern Microsoft tends to follow around this time of year. Previous years have seen releases like the Dream Vapor and Stellar Shift controllers, both of which I added to my collection, draining my bank account in the process. These special editions often signal the beginning of a new series, with further variants like Lunar Shift and various Vapor colorways following suit, eventually making their way into the Design Lab for customization options.

Recent launches include the Cipher series, featuring transparent designs such as Blue and Ghost, geared towards retro-loving gamers. This new controller could very well be another addition to that line or something entirely different. Here are my three predictions about what this enigmatic controller might be:

1) It could be a fresh color for the Cipher series, perhaps even a green reminiscent of the 8Bitdo Xbox keyboard and mouse inspired by the original Xbox.
2) It could mark the beginning of an entirely new range of controllers with a unique aesthetic.
3) Lastly, it’s a bit of a long shot, but it could be an Avowed-themed controller, considering its release date lines up closely with the game’s launch on February 13, 2025. However, Xbox hasn’t released a themed controller for a game since Starfield (which I also bought), so this scenario feels least likely.

Whatever it turns out to be, I hope I hate it so I don’t have to spend any more money.
