Xenoblade Chronicles Series Sells 7.17 Million Units on Nintendo Switch

As a long-time fan of the Xenoblade Chronicles series, I can’t help but feel a sense of awe and excitement at the phenomenal success this franchise has achieved on the Nintendo Switch. Growing up with the original release on the Wii, I never imagined that it would one day reach such impressive sales figures. The fact that Xenoblade Chronicles has surpassed 7 million units sold is a testament to its timeless appeal and the enduring quality of Nintendo’s RPG offerings.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been thrilled by Nintendo’s latest disclosure of sales figures for their hardware and games, particularly the new releases such as “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” and “Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door”. But wait, there’s more! They also unveiled an impressive milestone – the Xenoblade Chronicles series has sold a staggering 7.17 million units!

During the Q2 fiscal year 2025 financial results and corporate management policy briefing, President Shuntaro Furukawa talked about how the series performed on the Nintendo Switch compared to the Wii U and 3DS. Along with Xenoblade Chronicles, franchises like Pikmin, Kirby, and Metroid have experienced significant sales increases.

Granted, only Xenoblade Chronicles 1 is available on the Nintendo 3DS, and we don’t know how each title has performed individually. As of December 2022, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition sold 1.88 million, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sales totalled 2.7 million (not including the DLC, Torna – The Golden Country). Xenoblade Chronicles 3, meanwhile, sold 1.86 million as of March 2023.

anticipate a notable increase in viewership for the series when Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition launches on the Nintendo Switch on March 20th, 2025. Keep an eye out for further information about enhancements and fresh content in the upcoming months.
