However, upon closer inspection, this series seems to have all the ingredients for a captivating tale – yakuza drama, romance, and an intriguing twist on the conventional shojo manga formula.
As someone who has been following Japanese pop culture for over two decades now, I must admit that I haven’t heard much about “Yakuza Fianc?” until today. However, with its upcoming anime debut this Fall, I am eager to learn more about it and add another title to my watchlist. The crime drama series “Yakuza Fiancé” is preparing to debut in October, but no specific release date has been set yet. However, a significant update has been announced with the unveiling of its first trailer. This trailer also presents the ending theme song for the show titled “Nani Wararotonnen,” sung by Yoshino. What Is Yakuza Fianc??
Originally penned by Asuka Konishi for Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine in 2017, the anime adaptation of “Yakuza Fiancée: Strangers Are Good” is being helmed by Toshifumi Kawase at Studio DEEN. Rika Takasuhi will supervise the script, Itsuko Takeda will design the characters, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi and Masato Suzuki will compose the music. The voice cast will be headlined by Hitomi Ueda as Yoshino Somei and Akira Ishida as Kirishima Miyama.
The Yakuza Fiance is set to make its first appearance this October, falling within the Fall 2024 anime lineup. For fans residing in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS regions, streaming exclusivity will be provided by Crunchyroll. Somei Renji is the grandfather of Somei Yoshino and heads the largest yakuza group in the Kansai region, known as the ‘Somei Group’. In arranging for her marriage to Miyama Kirishima, Yoshino is compelled to relocate to the vast estate of the ‘Miyama Clan’, which leads the Kanto region’s yakuza groups. Upon arrival, Kirishima extends a warm welcome and presents himself as an amiable, charming, and kind young man, masking his family ties to the yakuza. This reassures Yoshino despite her initial unease in this foreign environment. However, a particular incident causes Yoshino to witness the true nature of Kirishima.
