Yellowstone’s Final Episodes Get Streaming Premiere Date (And It’s Soon)

The popular television series “Yellowstone” concluded its run in December and hasn’t been streamable since then, unless you opted for purchasing the final episodes individually. However, good news for those without traditional cable! The conclusion of “Yellowstone” is about to hit streaming platforms as it was announced on Friday that Season 5: Part 2 will start streaming next month.

On March 16th, Peacock, where you can find hit series Yellowstone, will add the remaining episodes to their service. These final six episodes aired on Paramount Network about two years following the premiere of the first half of Season 5. The ending stirred up some controversy due to Kevin Costner’s departure from the show, which left John Dutton’s character without an actor and concluded the series in his absence. This decision didn’t sit well with many fans, especially since creator Taylor Sheridan chose to make the deceased John Dutton’s character a key figure posthumously in the storyline.

For numerous enthusiasts, it’s a thrilling prospect that even though Yellowstone has officially ended, the narrative is set to persist with a spin-off/sequel series. The lead actors from Yellowstone, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, are set to reprise their roles as Beth and Rip in this new production, ensuring that the upcoming show will continue to focus on the two most cherished characters of the franchise.

A significant factor leading us to shift our focus towards a fresh series rather than solely expanding the narrative of ‘Yellowstone’ around Beth and Rip, was the limited foresight in our previous streaming agreement that predates the launch of Paramount+.

Before “Yellowstone” dominated television and as CBS All Access struggled to gain traction, the company negotiated an exclusive streaming deal with Peacock for the show. Later, Paramount+ was launched, making “Yellowstone” a cable powerhouse. This left the company without one of its major TV properties while they were trying to restructure their streaming service.

Although Yellowstone isn’t available on Paramount+ alongside other spin-offs and shows created by Sheridan that are streaming there, this is because Peacock currently holds the rights. To ensure that their next series can be streamed exclusively within their platform, Paramount has decided to end the original show and instead create a new program as a continuation, which they will host in-house.

Currently, you can find “Yellowstone” exclusively on Peacock. The last episodes are set to premiere within a short span of time.
