Excitement builds as we edge closer to the Japanese premiere of “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” on July 18th, 2025. The first installment of this trilogy film will then make its way to US theaters on September 12th, 2025. This movie is an authentic continuation of the story, continuing from the closing moments of the Hashira Training Arc. In the film, the Demon Slayer Corps find themselves trapped within the Infinity Castle, a labyrinth that’s under Muzan’s control and incredibly challenging to traverse. The Upper Rank Demons lurk within, eagerly anticipating an opportunity to eliminate the Demon Slayers and wipe out the entire Demon Slayer Corps.
The movie will highlight the climactic phase of the series, offering some of the most thrilling battles that fans have yet to witness. With the battle against demons being what the Corps were specifically designed for, the tension is at an all-time high. The official X account of the anime has been posting countdowns to build anticipation for the upcoming film. Recently, they’ve unveiled a captivating image of Sanemi Shinazugawa, one of the most popular characters in the series, who belongs to the Wind Hashira.
Sanemi Will Shock Demon Slayer Fans in the Upcoming Films
Initially, Sanemi was often criticized due to his harsh introduction in the series. He showed an intense dislike for demons which led him to assault an innocent Nezuko within Ubuyashiki manor. After this initial turbulence, he generally maintained a hostile demeanor throughout the story. However, it was later revealed that Genya’s past explained Sanemi’s animosity towards demons and how he had slain his own mother who had turned into a demon to protect Genya.
The story of the siblings doesn’t conclude there as Sanemi departs to join the Demon Slayer Corps, wishing to avoid Genya indefinitely. He would disregard Genya, even after the latter joined the Corps with the aim of reconciling with his elder brother. Sanemi’s antagonism towards Genya is merely a front, as there’s a hidden cause behind his persistent distancing from his only family member. Despite Genya having apologized repeatedly for causing him pain, the Wind Pillar remains unyielding. The Infinity Castle movie will be a pivotal chapter in the Shinazugawa brothers’ journey, where they will confront their genuine emotions during combat.
From an external perspective, I’ve noticed that Sanemi, as the Wind Hashira, is undeniably one of the formidable figures within this storyline. Yet, even his immense power seems insufficient against the upper echelons of the Twelve Kizuki. This arc, though, promises to elevate Sanemi’s role significantly compared to the rest of the series, offering a deeper exploration of his abilities.
Intriguingly, the manga disclosed his powers during the Infinity Castle Arc, but the anime provided a sneak peek in the Hashira Training Arc by incorporating scenes straight from the light novel. However, there remains much more to be revealed about him.
