‘The Hunger Games’

June 1

Jennifer Lawrence transformed into an action powerhouse by portraying Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games”, a film version of Suzanne Collins’ novel set in the fictional dystopia of Panem. Here, teenagers are compelled to participate in the Hunger Games, an annual event where they fight each other to the death. Katniss and her fellow District 12 tribute, Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson), must use their exceptional survival abilities to stay alive amidst competitors from Panem’s other 11 districts in a televised combat.

Fans of the award-winning actress and the widely acclaimed book series can start streaming The Hunger Games and its thrilling trilogy of sequels on Max from June 1st. Lawrence, Hutcherson, and co-star Liam Hemsworth won hearts globally with their dynamic portrayals in the adaptation. Katniss, a beloved female heroine, captivated audiences worldwide with her courageous spirit and unwavering determination.

‘Casino’

June 1

Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro, a formidable team, maintained their successful run in Hollywood when they collaborated on the gripping crime saga titled “Casino“. This movie revolves around Sam “Ace” Rothstein, an astute gambling professional, who is entrusted by the Mafia to manage the daily affairs of the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas. However, things don’t always go as planned when he encounters his volatile associate and friend Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci). Additionally, Sam finds himself smitten by Ginger McKenna, a captivating swindler (Sharon Stone).

Casino represents the eighth joint project by Scorsese and De Niro, with the esteemed actor underscoring his dominance in the gangster genre yet again. Stone delivers an outstanding performance as Ginger, the drug-dependent con artist, while the lively dialogue exchanges and electric camaraderie between De Niro and Pesci elevate Casino above its familiar Scorsese realms in the crime film category. The thrilling and captivating Casino will be available on Max starting June 1.

‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’

June 1

Restaging a beloved Hollywood masterpiece is no walk in the park. However, director Philip Kaufman was spot on when he directed the ’70s sci-fi horror spectacle “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”. As Matthew Bennell, a San Francisco health inspector (played by Donald Sutherland), started noticing some unusual changes in his friends and colleagues, he uncovered a chilling truth – humans are being swapped with emotionless and inhuman alien replicas.

The remake of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” released in 1978, is just as chilling (or perhaps even more so) than its 1956 predecessor. Over the years, this unsettling horror classic has only increased in influence and relevance. The tense atmosphere and heart-stopping scenes involving Matthew’s encounters with the pod people will keep you gripped to your seat, while the film’s haunting conclusion is a memory that lingers long after the movie ends. Don’t miss out on the memorable final scene and Sutherland’s spine-tingling scream when the movie premieres on Max on June 1st.

‘Bullet Train’

June 3

Brad Pitt demonstrated once again why he remains one of Hollywood’s most captivating leading men by starring in the high-octane comedy-action flick “Bullet Train”. In this movie, he plays the hapless assassin known as Ladybug, who finds himself in a challenging mission to retrieve a secretive briefcase on a blazing fast train in Tokyo. However, he soon realizes that he’s not alone – he’s competing against an assortment of ruthless killers. Despite his intention to change his ways, it proves to be quite the challenge for Ladybug as he navigates the world’s swiftest train.

In the highpoint of his acting career, Pitt shines brightly in the movie “Bullet Train.” His powerful physique and sharp comedic skills are showcased throughout this action-packed film. Notable stars like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Joey King, and Brian Tyree Henry also make appearances. With its quirky characters, over-the-top action scenes, and a nonstop, exhilarating energy from start to finish, “Bullet Train” promises an adrenaline rush when it hits theaters on June 3rd.

‘The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie’

June 27

The well-known cartoon team Daffy Duck and Porky Pig make their return in the sci-fi comedy “The Day the Earth Exploded: A Looney Tunes Production“, where they take on another thrilling escapade. In this story, the endearing duo are Earth’s only hope when faced with an alien invasion that involves… bubble gum? The dynamic pair uncover a secret at the Goodie Gum factory where scientists have been tainting the product with a green slime, transforming anyone who chews it into mind-controlled zombies. Together, they must hurry to save the world from these invaders.

The Explosive Day Our Planet

In an innovative departure from the classic Looney Tunes Cartoons, the movie “The Day the Earth Exploded” marks its debut as a standalone, original spin-off, under the creative direction of Pete Browngardt. He aimed to create a 1950s-style sci-fi B-movie atmosphere, blending elements from iconic films like “The Day the Earth Stood Still” and “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, all while focusing on our beloved duo. This buddy comedy is brimming with hilarious antics, high octane action, and a generous serving of heartwarming nostalgia. It will be accessible for streaming on Max starting June 27th.
