You Need to Hear the Advice Brad Pitt Would Give His Younger Self

Once upon a time in Hollywood, Brad Pitt was just starting out.

Despite the fact that we might find it difficult to imagine the Oscar-winning individual as anything other than the well-known figure he is today, it’s important to remember that in 1987, Brad Pitt wasn’t yet a fountain of all wisdom – though he certainly is now.

If I, at age 61, could offer advice to my younger self, I’d tell myself not to worry too much and have faith in myself.

In an exclusive interview with TopMob News during the promotion of his latest movie, F1, Pitt reflected, “Looking back, I invested a lot of time in things that didn’t matter. During my early years, I grappled with these insignificant matters. But now, my advice is simple: trust yourself.

It’s a sentiment his costar Javier Bardem wish he could tell his younger self, too.

Ease up a bit,” I advise you. “Don’t force things so much. Instead, rely more on your intuition, your inner guidance.” (For further insights from the F1 gang, catch us on TopMob News tonight, June 16 at 11p.m.)

Though, Bardem knows hindsight is 20/20.

The 56-year-old acknowledged that it seems simple to make such a statement now, given his age. However, he emphasized that when one is young, the stakes feel significantly higher. It’s a time when you yearn to demonstrate your capabilities not only for yourself but also to prove others wrong.

Nowadays, they’ve grown quite at ease with their role in Hollywood. As Bardem put it, “I think we’re alright now. If you appreciate my work, fantastic. If not, I apologize. But when I was younger, it felt like, ‘You have to admire me!’

Like them, Hollywood has also transformed.

Pitt remarked, “It’s had numerous transformations over time.” He recalled, “In the ’90s, it was about independent cinema and replicating the filmmaking style of the ’70s. Then, there was a resurgence of blockbusters in the arts, and later, the rise of streaming platforms that disrupted the industry once more.

He added, “What’s great is that an increasing number of individuals are receiving chances similar to these. This vast pool of talent has always been here, but now, a multitude of writers, directors, editors, and others are able to participate. And finding that more people get to do this is quite exciting.

One individual joining the competition more recently is the renowned Formula 1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, who can be seen alongside Javier and Brad on the popular show, “Formula 1”.

Which, yeah, made Pitt nervous.

Pitt humorously pondered over the audacity of saying, “I’ll drive a seven-time world champion on the track.” He acknowledged the absurdity but found the courage to proceed. It was incredibly humbling, and he emphasized that Lewis Hamilton is an exceptional individual. They couldn’t have made the movie without his valuable knowledge and guidance.
