As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that JoJo Siwa’s latest transformation is nothing short of remarkable. Having worked with various celebrities throughout my career, I’ve seen many metamorphoses, but none quite as dramatic and bold as this one.
JoJo Siwa has never made this extreme of a switch.
The former star of “Dance Moms” has just been featured on the cover of the independent LGBTQ+ magazine LadyGunn, demonstrating that she’s serious about leaving behind her child star image.
In the images, the 21-year-old adopts various poses while wearing shimmery golden armor designed to mimic a sculpted six-pack, along with a matching gold jockstrap, both from Sparkyle Studio. Additional shots feature the “Karma” artist posing only in an over-sized jacket and white Calvin Klein briefs.
Next to the pictures she shared, JoJo spoke candidly about reinforcing her evolved, mature persona, and the mixed reactions this change has sparked.
“I learned at a very young age that in the public eye, any attention is attention—whether it be good attention or just attention,” she explained to LadyGunn in the profile published Sept. 23. “I just signed with new management, and they’re great, amazing people. They were like, ‘Alright, we got to get people to rally around you and really start to like you.’ And I was like, oh no, that’s not the point.”
As a die-hard fan, I’ve got to say it: JoJo, the one who danced her way into our hearts on Dance Moms, alongside powerhouses like Maddie Ziegler, Mackenzie Ziegler, Nia Sioux, Chloe Lukasiak, Kendall Vertes, and Kalani Hilliker, has mastered the art of turning criticism into fuel for success.
She shared that her most cherished activity is providing amusement and bringing joy through laughter, whether it’s shared or at her expense. While nobody appreciates dislike, she finds satisfaction in being entertaining, and that’s what makes people laugh.
Additionally, JoJo openly acknowledged that the recent photo shoot for LadyGunn magazine forms part of her continuous efforts to provide entertainment.
She stressed that simply organizing an impressive photoshoot isn’t enough; it should leave people wondering, ‘What on earth is she wearing this time?’ To put it more clearly, it needs to be a costume so intriguing, it could easily pass as a unique Halloween outfit.
Of course, JoJo is well-aware of her audience, given the widespread interest her photoshoot has generated on the web.
A comment on JoJo’s post about Abby Lee Miller’s dance quote received a like from her: “JOJO, haven’t you learned anything?!” (This comment is expressing disbelief or criticism that JoJo might not have learned the lessons taught by Abby.)
Meanwhile another noted that the former child star may be getting more hate than she deserves.
