You season 5 adds breakout Baby Reindeer star to cast

As a huge fan of Netflix’s thrilling series “You,” I am absolutely thrilled to hear that Nava Mau, who made history as the first transgender woman to be Emmy-nominated for her role in “Baby Reindeer,” is joining the cast. Her powerful words about the lack of opportunities for trans actors to grow and be recognized resonate deeply with me. I can only imagine the impact this experience will have on Mau’s career and life, as she continues to make history in Hollywood.

As the final season of Netflix’s “You” draws near, the show’s star-studded cast is growing larger. Most recently, Nava Mau from “Baby Reindeer” has been added to the ensemble of this gripping thriller.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be making an appearance on the show, joining Penn Badgley and Charlotte Ritchie. In this role, I’ll bring Detective Marquez to life.

1. Following her outstanding portrayal in Baby Reindeer, Mau was the trailblazer as the first transgender actress nominated in the Supporting Actress category for Limited or Anthology Series/Movie at the Emmys.

After being nominated, she shared with Deadline her thoughts: “Trans actors seldom receive ample chances to hone our skills, expand as artists, and gain recognition for our true potential.”

1. “Being involved in this show has been an invaluable journey for me. At each stage, I could sense the personal growth it was sparking within me, as well as the impact on my life and my aspirations. To receive acknowledgement from my fellow professionals in the Academy is a testament to this transformative experience.”

1. In the upcoming fifth season of “You”, we’ll catch up with Joe and his freshly-wed spouse, Kate, as they embark on a new journey in New York City.

At present, details about the storyline are scarce; however, it’s been confirmed that Griffin Matthews will portray Kate’s sibling, Teddy, and Anna Camp will take on the roles of her identical twin sisters, Raegan and Maddie.

During filming for the more recent season, images were taken of an apparent argument between Joe, portrayed by Badgley, and either Raegan or Maddie.

1. For the upcoming final season, there will be some new people at the helm, specifically Michael Foley and Justin W Lo, taking over from Sera Gamble who is moving on.
