In the past seven days, I discussed speculations surrounding the postponed release of NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. These rumors have now been substantiated by HKEPC, a hardware retailer situated in Hong Kong, as reported by Videocardz.
NVIDIA is expected to officially announce its RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti on April 15, 2025.
As a tech enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that we’re anticipating a total of three new cards unveiled in April. The much-awaited RTX 5060 Ti seems to be getting a split, with both 8GB and 16GB VRAM models expected. On the other hand, it appears that the non-Ti version of the RTX 5060 will only come with an 8GB VRAM option.
Unlike previous RTX 50-series releases where there was a significant interval between announcement, review embargoes, and market availability, it’s anticipated that the RTX 5060 Ti will become available for purchase just one day after, specifically on April 16.
It’s worth noting that the review restrictions for the RTX 5060 Ti will be lifted on April 16, which could coincide with a rush of people eagerly trying to get their hands on these GPUs. Given the anticipated interest, I suspect supply won’t last long.
Across all generations, the RTX XX60-series consistently ranks highly in popularity. A glance at Steam’s hardware survey reveals the RTX 4060 as number one, with the RTX 3060 close behind.
Although the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 generally received favorable reviews, there were some areas where the less potent Blackwell hardware fell short.
As a tech-savvy individual, I must confess that I found myself quite disappointed with the RTX 5070. It seems many fellow enthusiasts and reviewers, including PC Gamer, have raised valid concerns about this GPU. To be honest, I’m left wondering how one could wholeheartedly endorse it without significant reservations.
It appears that NVIDIA might be strategically preparing for the release of the RTX 5060 Ti, aiming to release it at a time when potential customers are likely finishing their day’s work, in hopes that any unfavorable reviews won’t get noticed before buyers make their purchase decisions.
It appears that NVIDIA intends to unveil the RTX 5060 (non-Ti version) in May, but specifics about review embargoes remain uncertain.
NVIDIA wants all partners to have one RTX 5060 Ti available at MSRP

One intriguing detail emerging from the leaked launch schedule indicates that NVIDIA is encouraging its manufacturing partners, who create third-party cards utilizing NVIDIA’s processors, to ensure there will be at least one RTX 5060 Ti card available at the manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) when it launches.
This is, in theory, a great idea, but I don’t know how it will pan out.
It’s tougher to get hold of more affordable NVIDIA GPUs because they’re highly sought-after and in high demand. When the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) units run out, we’ll be met with the typical overpriced offerings on the market.

NVIDIA seems to intend for MSRP cards to be readily available at the initial release, leaving distributors free to manage their subsequent shipments as they see fit.
It’s intriguing to anticipate the collective response from both gamers and builders next month, given that it might take either of two possible directions.
1. It’s possible that NVIDIA could impress us with its RTX 5060 Ti, regardless of the release schedule. Conversely, if the RTX 5060 Ti doesn’t live up to expectations, NVIDIA’s choice of release date might become less justifiable.
2. If the RTX 5060 Ti from NVIDIA leaves us amazed, the timing won’t seem important. However, should the RTX 5060 Ti fail to meet our expectations, the timing could appear questionable.
3. In one scenario, the RTX 5060 Ti from NVIDIA might captivate us regardless of its release date. On the contrary, if it falls short of our expectations, the release date could seem less defensible.
