Chanel West Coast is feeling a lil’ bit country.

Previously a member of Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, she recently unveiled an unexpected shift in her career path by releasing her debut country song titled “Lil’ Bit Country.” This is Chanel’s first venture into the realm of country music.

In her song co-written with collaborator Nicky, the native of Los Angeles sings about being a country girl at heart, despite starting in the big city. For the music video, she donned a plaid shirt over a white tank top, jean shorts, and glittering over-the-knee boots while dancing across an open field and on a Ford pickup truck, surrounded by friends.

At age 16, I chose to homeschool myself so that I could focus on my job and music career. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to nurturing these passions. Recently, I expressed this excitement in a statement on April 11 upon releasing a new song. In the statement, I shared that I’m eager for listeners to hear me sing for the first time – as I continue exploring my artistic abilities and following my heart.

Chanel, who divides the Bowie Breeze and 2 with her partner Dom Fenison, mentioned that “music has always played a significant role in my life, it’s part of who I am at my core,” before discussing her reasons for venturing into country music.

Growing up, I would spend blissful summers in rural Ohio with my extended family, attending our annual gatherings at the legendary Grand Ole Opry. The melodies of country music became the backdrop for countless cherished summer moments. Now, as a parent myself, it’s heartwarming to revisit this past and create fresh, new memories of country tunes for my little one.

Two years following her surprise resignation as the host of Ridiculousness in March 2023, the TV personality has now changed course in her career.

Chanel expressed to Francesca Amiker of TopMob News during an exclusive July 2024 interview that the timing felt organic. She believed it was a natural progression in her career, as her fans had been eagerly anticipating more from her beyond her work on Ridiculousness. They frequently asked when she would have her own show and expressed their desire to watch more of her endeavors, so this step seemed like the logical next move.

Following more than a decade in that position, it became the right moment for her to embark on a solo journey. She managed to achieve this independence through her upcoming one-season reality series in 2024 titled “West Coast Hustle.

Chanel shared that she has long desired to demonstrate her work beyond Ridiculousness. She had been presenting trailers and attempting to sell a show for some time, but initially no one was interested. However, she believes that fate was on our side. It’s amusing, after having my child, Bowie, it seems like the blessings just kept coming.

And having her own show was a dream come true for the MTV star.

Chanel shared, ‘I’ve been visualizing this since I was just a child.’ She even has old videos of herself, around 8 years old, asserting, ‘This is my TV show, it’s better than MTV and VH1.’ So, in a sense, we’ve brought about the reality we find ourselves in today through our manifestations.
