You Won’t Believe How Eva Longoria Raises Her Son Across 3 Countries

For Eva Longoria, having her son Santiago by her side has been a chef’s kiss.

Managing a growing 6-year-old son can sometimes be challenging, but luckily, the former Desperate Housewives star has a supportive network of family to lean on. Since she and husband José Bastón have been dividing their time among the U.S., Mexico, and Spain.

As an over-the-moon fanatic, I couldn’t help but spill the beans to TopMob News at the grand premiere of my upcoming production, Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain in the bustling heart of New York City. “We’ve got a traveling circus with us,” I shared. “My dear mentor is part of our journey. My family is alongside us—my sisters, my mom, and my loving spouse.

The youngest sister among the four actresses stressed that she wants to bring “the most of their hometown” with them during their journeys.

In Eva’s words, Santiago clearly adores his distinctive lifestyle enough to earn three Michelin stars. Given his extensive travel experience, it’s clear he appreciates it.

Fortunately, he’s usually more than happy to accompany his mom wherever she goes. As a 50-year-old explained, “To him, being with me is what makes a place feel like home.” He truly cherishes spending time with me.

At any given time, the choice of where Eva and José reside is determined by where their respective jobs are located, since that’s where they are employed. (2016 was the year they got married.)

It’s quite appropriate that Eva, being of both Mexican and American descent, decided to delve deeper into her ancestral links with Spain for her upcoming CNN show, set to air on April 27th.

She enthusiastically shared that exploring Spain through food and drink was enjoyable, but her trip to Asturias, her ancestral homeland, held a unique charm for her. She had the opportunity to visit her ancestral home, dine with distant relatives, discuss the region’s landscape, and delve into the local industry. Being enveloped in Spanish culture and lifestyle was an extraordinary experience she considered a precious gift.

During their global journeys, Eva takes care to preserve and honor both her and Santiago’s cultural roots. To illustrate this, she consistently has a figurine of the Mexican patron saint, Our Lady of Guadalupe, in their living space.

In 2021, TopMob shared with us that Santi, a devoted follower, is a habitual morning riser who runs and then joins our prayer group. Furthermore, he expresses his devotion by greeting the Virgin Mary with a kiss each morning. If I ever miss this ritual, Santi gently reminds me, saying, “Oh, you didn’t—you didn’t pay your respects to her!

As a devoted follower, I find such rich traditions deeply ingrained in our daily routines, and I can’t help but appreciate their beauty. It’s a profound joy to preserve these customs and continue honoring them.

Eva happily expressed, “Today is my first Mother’s Day! I can hardly recall what life was like before this precious bundle of affection joined it.
