Playing the character of Hughie for five seasons has been an incredibly fulfilling experience for me. Prior to this show, I had only worked on a series that lasted one season and several pilots that didn’t get picked up. This is my first time playing a character for such an extended period, which makes it all the more rewarding. In fact, this season I have made a conscious effort to ensure that you can follow Hughie’s development throughout the storyline.
In the initial phase, I found myself playing a role much like a newborn – learning the ropes and finding my footing. As we moved into the second season, I was more like an inquisitive child, exploring everything around me. By the third season, my character took on a rebellious teenager vibe, pushing boundaries and testing limits. In the fourth season, he underwent a significant transformation that made him grow and mature remarkably. Now, in this current season, I feel like I’m portraying a fully-fledged man with newfound confidence – a shift I believe fans will find intriguing.
