Alongside the recent launch of the Shining Revelry booster packs, the Pokemon TCG Pocket app has launched its inaugural ranked matches. The first ranked match season in Pokemon TCG Pocket began on March 28th and will continue until April 27th, providing players with a month to compete. Unlike before, triumphing in these player-versus-player (PvP) encounters doesn’t only earn you a profile badge; there are several Final Rank Rewards up for grabs, depending on your rank at the conclusion of the A2b Ranked Match season. So far, players have been quite impressed with the array of rewards offered during this season.
In the “Pokemon TCG Pocket” game’s Versus Battle menu, the recently added Ranked Matches take center stage. Players have the option to engage in these competitive matches or choose an unranked random match, or even a private duel with another player. Participating in at least one Ranked Match during this season will qualify you for one of the Season’s Final Rank Rewards. Even if your deck isn’t top-tier, it might be beneficial to play a few matches before the season ends on April 27th to secure some rewards.
In the competitive matches of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, the system pairs you with opponents who have a comparable skill set. This setup aims to minimize instances where you face an opponent who easily outmatches you right off the bat. The Ranked Matches operate on a point-based system that decides your rank. With each victory, you accrue rank points and progress to higher levels. However, when you lose, some rank points are deducted, causing your level to decrease.
In this game, all players start off as Beginners, but by accumulating points, you can progress through the ranks, starting from Poke Ball and ultimately reaching Master Ball. As you advance in the ranks, you’ll lose more points upon defeat compared to beginners who don’t lose any until they reach the Poke Ball rank. The prizes you receive at the end of the season are determined by your final rank and will be distributed after April 27th.

Despite a few players expressing dissatisfaction because the Pack Hourglass rewards max out at 100 in Master Ball rank, many other gamers are quite content with this initial set of rewards. Although emblems were expected, the inclusion of Pack Hourglasses as part of the Ranked Match rewards makes playing the new ranked mode more tempting for players. For collectors deprived of the fun of physical packs due to scarcity and scalping problems, tearing open these virtual packs remains the most delightful aspect of the game.
