Shiny Pokemon are extremely appealing to many fans within the series, causing players to invest a great deal of time hunting them down throughout multiple games. This is largely due to their scarcity. Occasionally, Niantic boosts the likelihood of encountering Shinies in Pokemon Go, making it slightly easier to discover certain ones during special events. At present, this occurs within the game during the Bug Out event. From today onwards, gamers will have a higher chance of stumbling upon both Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede, as they become more common in the wild.
The standard Wurmple Pokemon typically sports a red body with white and yellow highlights, but its Shiny form changes the red to deep purple, making it easily noticeable. Wurmple can eventually transform into either Silcoon or Cascoon, which then develop into Beautifly or Dustox. While these final evolutions have different wing patterns, Dustox keeps a similar body coloration. In contrast, Beautifly trades its usual white body for a cream one and has lighter blue eyes compared to the standard version, creating a visually striking difference!
As a gamer, I’d say, “Just like Wurmple, Venipede starts off as a primarily red critter in its regular form. But the Shiny version swaps that for a dirtier, browner hue that looks more like a real-life bug crawler. However, this color pattern doesn’t carry over when it evolves. The Shiny Whirlipede and Scolipede retain some of their original colors but with subtle differences – Shiny Whirlipede has muted tones compared to the normal version, while Shiny Scolipede sports a vibrant neon red with electric blue stripes instead of its standard red with purple stripes.
Should hunting Shiny Pokemon not be your preference, the Bug Out event remains an exciting prospect. During this event, both Sizzlipede and its evolved form Centiskorch will make their first appearance in Pokemon Go. These creatures won’t show up in the wild, but you can find Sizzlipede in One-Star Raids, making it relatively accessible during the event. To evolve Sizzlipede, you’ll need 50 Sizzlipede Candy. Moreover, Sizzlipede can also be encountered through Timed Research and by utilizing Lure Modules at PokeStops.
During this Pokemon Go event, making great throws can lead to a variety of bonuses such as doubled XP, more Candy (4 instead of the standard 3), and an increased probability of receiving Candy XL for players who have reached Level 31 or higher. The Pokemon Go Shop offers Paid Timed Research for $2.00, which provides extra encounters with various Bug-type Pokemon, a Lure Module, and 2 Premium Battle Passes. It’s important to note that this Timed Research expires and cannot be purchased using PokeCoins. The Bug Out event will continue until Sunday, March 30th at 8 p.m., local time.
