Get set, gladiators! The popular game show returns for yet another thrilling season, assembling a stellar lineup of athletic legends prepared to tackle legendary challenges reminiscent of those made famous during its initial broadcast.
Steel, a seasoned CrossFit competitor, eagerly prepares to face valiant public participants, as his childhood dream of being a Gladiator remains unfulfilled.
Describing his alter ego, Zack George said Steel is “Mr Nice Guy” – but he comes with a catch.
He informed the BBC before his show premiere that he is consistently cheerful and approachable. However, once the game begins, he transforms into a relentless, efficient powerhouse.
He’s likely to concede defeat gracefully with a heartfelt ‘well done’ to his competitors, should he fail. However, it’s unlikely that he will surrender his victory without a tough fight.

Who is Steel?

Steel, an accomplished CrossFit athlete, adorned the cover of Men’s Health magazine and was titled the fittest individual in the UK in 2020. His strength allows him to lift an impressive 220 kilograms, which is approximately equal to the weight of 3.5 standard washing machines!
As stated by the CrossFit Games 2024, Steel stands among the elite CrossFit athletes globally, holding a rank of 26th out of a total of 126,461 competitors.
Discussing his motivation for becoming a Gladiator, Zack shared that he was captivated by the original TV series as a kid. He recalled thinking the initial cast resembled “comic book superheroes.
As a movie enthusiast, standing even the slightest chance of resembling those legendary gladiators, not just emulating them, feels more like a long-cherished dream materializing before my eyes, on the brink of making it real on this very show.
It’s wonderful to get a chance to give back, in some small way, to the younger audience and viewers, by reciprocating the positive impact that the original series had on me.
