You Won’t Survive: Meet Orela, Dead by Daylight’s Most OP Survivor Yet?

In the world of “Dead by Daylight”, it’s been officially unveiled that Orela Rose, a fresh Survivor, is joining the roster. This unique character will hit the shelves on May 6th, as part of the Steady Pulse update. But, if you can’t wait until then, you can already test her abilities in the public test build (PTB). Behaviour Interactive has also shared a detailed backstory for Orela, who turned to paramedics after the heart-wrenching loss of her best friend Emily. With her healing background, Orela’s character perks are expected to be quite beneficial. On the game’s official site, the following new perks have been disclosed:

1. Mending Swiftness: Heal faster while moving.
2. Resilient Repair: Healing others also heals yourself.
3. Unbroken: Reduce the terror radius when healing others.
4. Borrowed Time: Survivors who are about to be hooked gain temporary immunity to the hook and can escape.

  • Do no Harm:
    • When you heal anotherĀ Survivor, for each hook state they have, healĀ 30/40/50%Ā fasterĀ and gainĀ +3/3/3%Ā progress for succeeding greatĀ skill checks.
  • Duty of Care:
    • When you take a protection hit while healthy, all otherĀ SurvivorsĀ withinĀ 16/16/16 metersĀ gainĀ 25/25/25% HasteĀ forĀ 4/5/6 seconds.
  • Rapid Response:
    • When you do a Fast Locker Exit, you suffer from the Exhausted status effect forĀ 30/30/30 seconds.
    • When you gainĀ Exhausted, you see theĀ Killer’sĀ auraĀ forĀ 1/1.5/2 seconds.
    • ExhaustedĀ prevents one from using perks that causeĀ Exhausted.

As a horror enthusiast myself, I used to share dreams with my friend Emily about creating an immersive dining experience inspired by Chris Barra’s chilling novels. Before I became a paramedic, we even attempted to set up a haunted house. Unfortunately, during our setup, Emily came into contact with a worn-out wire and was electrocuted. Though I managed to stabilize her in the moment, my limited medical knowledge made me powerless to do more than wait for the paramedics. They seemed to be moving sluggishly through what should have been a routine call, which ultimately led to Emily’s tragic demise. Her loss ignited a fire within me to become a paramedic and bring our dream to life. With the help of someone I saved later on, I was able to open “Screams in the Dark.

Just like numerous others, Orela Rose got enveloped by The Fog, abandoning the life she had constructed. Yet, the real-world abilities she’s acquired should prove beneficial not only to her but also to the other game survivors. It’s intriguing lore indeed, and it’s apparent that the developers have put in a significant amount of effort to craft a unique and distinct character. Orela has garnered much appreciation as the first original Transgender Survivor within the game.
