You’re Finished Forever

For the last time, hello, You.

Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley), who has possibly left a trail of blood across the globe, has returned to where it all started – and where it will likely conclude – now that he’s married to Kate Galvin (portrayed by Charlotte Ritchie).

Joe speaks as he strolls through New York City in the March 10 Netflix trailer, saying ‘Hello, it’s great to have you back in the finest city on earth, all thanks to one special person.’ He continues, reflecting on fame, admitting it took some time to adjust but to truly live a blissful life, one must let go of their past identity.

In the last episode airing on April 24, Joe – who previously attempted suicide due to his violent inclinations and was aided by his affluent relatives – is once again found at his cherished Mooney’s bookstore following his return.

However, despite his current happy life with Kate and their son Henry (Frankie DeMaio), who is from Joe’s deceased ex-wife Love (Victoria Pedretti), the truth of his past continues to haunt him. In other words, no matter how much he tries to move on, Joe can’t escape his true self.

As Madeline Brewer (Bronte) steps into the bookstore, there seems to be an instant attraction for Joe. He remarks, “Your life is quite appealing, but it might not be wise to take the chance.

It turns out that his actions were justified in the end, as he deeply kissed the young woman. Despite his past indiscretions, Joe – formerly known as Professor Jonathan Moore last season – remains by Kate’s side, supporting her against her sisters who are trying to oust her from their family business. He firmly stated, “I would do anything to shield this family.

With fresh faces appearing alongside Joe in the limelight, he’ll simultaneously grapple with his troubling past as his former murder victims start to surface. In a video discussing her friend Peach Salinger and ex-lover Joe’s ex-girlfriend Beck, Annika Attwater (Kathryn Gallagher) bluntly states, “That lunatic definitely killed my dearest friend.

Despite the devastation and loss that followed him, Joe insists, “In essence, I’m just an ordinary person.

As per co-showrunner and executive producer Justin W. Lo, shining the spotlight on him became an ideal challenge for the killer when it came to devising a twist for the latest season.

In a recent interview with Tudum (published March 10), he pointed out one of the enjoyable aspects of this season – the fact that Joe, who is usually quite low-key, has become more recognized due to his fame. Previously, he managed to slip under the radar and move easily between seasons and locations because of his anonymity. However, now that he’s well-known in New York, social media seems to be following him closely.

And Penn couldn’t agree more.

He mentioned that there are several unresolved aspects in Joe’s past, which he believes will make the upcoming final season very intriguing. Could we perhaps see a development in his internal thoughts now? What implications might it have for him if he learns to embrace himself fully?

As we wait to see more of Joe Goldberg, read on to see all the shows premiering in 2025.
