The game will offer Japanese audio alongside Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitles. If you’ve previously bought the Clouded Leopard Entertainment-published PC version of “Ys X: Nordics“, you can acquire “Ys X: Proud Nordics” at a reduced price through the ” “Ys X Special Price Pack” until August 31.

New Story Set on Oland Island

Adol and Karja sail aboard the Sandra through Obelia Bay to combat Griegr’s undead horde, venturing next to explore Oland Island. On this largest island, they meet the “Shield Siblings,” Canute and Astrid, who originate from the realm of Danmorc.

What’s the reason behind the sudden appearance of the Normans, who were believed to have a peace agreement with the Balta Navy, in Obelia Bay at this particular moment?

And what secrets are hidden on this island, once investigated by Grimson, leader of the Balta Navy?

Players can delve into the tales of the “Shield Sibling” duos to unearth the roots of the Normans and the enigmatic force called Mana.

New Mana Action: “Mana Hold”

  • Use the power of Mana to lift certain objects and launch them toward a targeted location.
  • This special ability can be used in combat by weaponizing objects with built-in gimmicks, or in dungeons by creating footholds and opening new routes——making it an essential tool for exploration.

Mana Action Enhancements

During gameplay, players discover a unique item named “White Sand of Brilliance”. This item allows them to boost different Mana Actions such as the Mana Hold action.

  • Mana String – Increases damage dealt / movement speed.
  • Mana Burst – Increases damage dealt / higher chance to inflict status ailments.
  • Mana Ride – Increases damage dealt / reduces deceleration.

Mana Ride Challenges

  • Take on terrain-based time trials across Öland Island using the Mana Ride action.
  • Defeating rivals in these challenges may reward you with special items…

Bergen Arena

  • As you progress through the story, you’ll unlock the Bergen Arena on Öland Island, where you can undergo Norman training (playable solo as either Adol or Karja).
  • All opponents in the arena are formidable, but defeating them grants valuable rewards.

Muspelheim, the Divine Realm

  • Once certain conditions are met, players can challenge Muspelheim, an expansive, high-difficulty dungeon.
  • With a limited amount of time to explore, various gimmicks, and powerful enemies, Muspelheim offers the ultimate challenge. However, by using rare items called Deep Crystals, players can lift some of these limitations (e.g., extend active time or modify enemy abilities).

Golden Symbol / Unlocking Ocean Winds

  • During naval exploration with the Sandras, a Golden Symbol may appear on the sea. Sailing into it triggers a Naval Battle, and victory unlocks a new Ocean Wind.

*Riding Ocean Winds significantly increases the Sandras’s sailing speed.

Canute Gamley (voiced by Daiki Hamano)

Contrary to his relaxed appearance, he’s an exceptional warrior famously known as “Canute the Bloodshedder.” He hails from Danmorc, a realm ruled by his father Sver, who is presently leading an invasion into the Seven Kingdoms of Britai. Previously, he fought alongside his cousin Karja during a military campaign within Britai.

An exceptionally strategic mind, he once rescued the Normans who were at a numerical disadvantage by inventing a plan that shifted the course of the fight. Yet, there’s something mysterious about him that Karja finds hard to accept.

Astrid Zayren (voiced by Coco Hayashi)

  • Age: 20

“Sorry, Karja. Canute is always, always so blunt.”

As a trusted comrade to King Canute, I serve as his Shield Sister, standing steadfast beside him in battle. While I may lack the mystical powers of Mana, my keen intuition and exceptional skills in logistics make me an indispensable ally on the field.

With a warm and approachable demeanor, she converses with Adol and Karja openly, revealing her kind nature. However, she tends to be brisk with Canute, which might stem from his challenging personality, as she regularly encounters his troublesome behavior.
