It wasn’t until his cameo in season 5 that I recalled the actor from Severance had previously been a regular on Netflix’s You. In the fifth season of “You,” one of the characters who shared a TikTok about Joe was Ethan Russell, a former employee from Mooney’s Bookstore in the first season. Although Ethan wasn’t a significant character, he appeared consistently in all ten episodes of the show’s initial release. I had a faint recollection of him when he showed up in season 5, but I was surprised to find out that he was portrayed by Zach Cherry, who is known for his role in “Severance.

In the TV series “Severance,” which debuted in 2022, Cherry portrays Dylan, a part that significantly boosted his career as it became one of the most successful shows of the 2020s. Interestingly, seven years earlier, in 2018, Cherry had a minor role in “You” on Netflix, a series where he wasn’t exactly a newcomer, but his roles were generally limited to similar small parts.
