In the soap opera EastEnders, an unexpected departure occurred recently, as a result of Michelle Ryan’s character, Zoe Slater, abruptly leaving due to panic.
Zoe admitted to Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) that she’d performed an incredibly wrong act, one beyond redemption, and hastily departed from London before Stacey and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) had a chance to intervene.
After the chaos subsided, Alfie didn’t confess the truth to Kat (Jessie Wallace), his partner who was scheduled for an official remarriage ceremony on that same day.
At Stacey’s rental place, Alfie received a call. There, Stacey startled him by revealing that Zoe had allegedly taken Stacey’s credit card and used it to book a trip to Barcelona instead.
Stacey grew progressively worried about Zoe’s peculiar behavior towards mom Kat, so Alfie chose to travel to visit Zoe instead.
In Walford, Kat was taken aback when Alfie claimed he had to travel to Australia to console his distressed younger brother Spencer (Chris Parker).
Kat grew agitated, whereas Alfie harbored concerns about departing as their son, Sonny Kendall, appeared quiet.
As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I found myself enduring the discomfort of being intimidated by Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig), who was putting pressure on me due to Joel Marshall’s (Max Murray) suspicious actions.
Later, Joel manipulated Tommy into forwarding him the video that Tommy had recorded of Joel attacking a young woman, using it to maintain power over Tommy.
Later on, unaware that she was still troubled, Kat managed to compose herself. However, as Alfie brought up the topic of Zoe, Kat’s tranquility was disrupted, and in response, he pledged to strive his hardest to be the best husband possible.
Soon, Kat and Alfie went through with their marriage, making her ‘Mrs Moon’ once more.
Instead of directly saying it, Kat implied that she was giving Alfie permission to depart, and Alfie understood this as he packed for his journey to the airport. The hidden meaning wasn’t missed by him when Kat requested him to return with “the most wonderful gift” ever.
In the cab, Alfie called Stacey, confirming that he was going to bring Zoe home.
Given that actress Ryan is set to reappear by late summer, could Alfie manage to convince her to reconcile with Kat?
