Zombie Army VR Gets New Trailer Showcasing Co-Op Campaign, Weapons, and More

In anticipation for the May 22 launch of “Zombie Army VR“, developers Rebellion Developments and XR Games have unveiled a fresh trailer exclusively for this VR-exclusive game. The video, available for your viewing pleasure below, gives us a sneak peek at the exciting aspects of the upcoming release. These include a playable campaign that can be enjoyed solo or with friends, a mix of ranged and melee combat, and realistic World War 2 weapons that players can customize to their preference.

In the trailer for Zombie Army VR, you’ll notice rapid sequences of intense gameplay. These snippets display several aspects of the game, such as advancement systems, well-known kill cams, and the thrilling, violent combat that players can engage in using their preferred weapons.

As per the developers’ explanation, the virtual reality (VR) aspect of Zombie Army VR promises an enhanced level of immersion for players. The game features various ranged weapons that users must master. In a unique twist, if a player runs out of ammo in their main weapon and doesn’t have time to reload, they can use a side-arm as an alternative, with the option of dual-wielding for added combat efficiency.

At the close of March, it was announced that “Zombie Army VR” would be coming to PlayStation VR 2, SteamVR, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest 3. The game, which retails for $29.99, is now available for pre-purchase on all digital platforms, allowing you to choose the one that suits you best.

Zombie Army VR serves as a direct follow-up to the earlier Zombie Army games, not a spin-off. The narrative continues post-death of Zombie Hitler, where players assume the role of a Deadhunter whose mission is to eliminate undead war criminals. In their quest against the zombie masses of Nuremberg, the Deadhunter encounters Deadhunter commander Hermann Wolff and is given the task of assisting him and his kin in surviving.

In contrast to being exclusive to VR, Zombie Army VR is determined not to compromise on the extensive weapon collection that the series is renowned for. Players will have a selection of assault rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, submachine guns, and even melee weapons for intense close combat. Additionally, there are upgrade kits available for players to enhance and customize their weapons further.

The last installment in the Zombie Army series was Zombie Army 4: Dead War, which came out in 2020. Initially launched for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, it was later optimized to run smoothly on the enhanced hardware of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Just like its fellow games in the Zombie Army Trilogy, Zombie Army 4: Dead War has now made its way onto the Nintendo Switch as well. A trailer for the game, released prior to its launch on the platform, showcased several aspects of the port. Additionally, it was disclosed that the game will run at 30 frames per second and up to 1080p resolution on the console.
