The anime adaptation of One Piece is currently centering around the Straw Hat crew and the turmoil unfolding on Egghead Island as more Marines keep appearing. Their initial plan to flee the island ahead of the battles has failed, leaving them no choice but to confront their adversaries directly. To add fuel to the fire, CP0 remains a constant threat to the pirate gang. Lucci and his comrades are first to arrive on the island, but they don’t last long before being defeated. In a particularly exciting turn of events, Luffy unleashes Gear 5 for the first time since Wano against Lucci. To top it off, Lucci has also awakened his devil fruit following the two-year time skip.
Following their defeat, Lucci suggests a temporary truce, which leaves Luffy and Zoro irked. Despite this, Luffy consents to join forces with Lucci due to recognizing a shared danger and common adversary – the World Government. However, it becomes evident that Lucci was merely buying time and seeking the opportune moment to attack the Straw Hats once more. The ongoing siege on the island presents an ideal chance for him to strike again at the pirates. In this instance, while Luffy confronts the Admiral, Lucci’s adversary will be Zoro. This fight, in Episode 1125, is Zoro’s most impressive one so far in the Final Saga.
One Piece Features Zoro vs. Lucci
Back in the Enies Lobby Arc, I found myself squaring off against the formidable Lucci, giving me one heck of a challenge! But now, after that two-year time skip and our exhilarating journey through the New World, our crew has grown stronger than ever. Zoro, in particular, has made incredible strides – his swordsmanship and Haki have reached new heights, even mastering the elusive Conqueror’s Haki! Our upcoming showdown with Lucci promises to be a battle like no other, pushing me to my limits and beyond. It’s going to be an unforgettable clash in the world of One Piece.
In Episode 1125, Zoro’s challenge is not just about overpowering Lucci, but it’s multi-layered. He must not only keep Lucci at bay, but also safeguard the lab and the Satellites from the villain. This all takes place during the Egghead Arc when the stakes are significantly higher. While the rest of the crew is engaged in their separate missions, Zoro faces off against a member of CP0, one of the World Government’s most formidable assassin groups. The awakened powers of Lucci’s Devil Fruit pose an additional threat to him. The manga portrays brief moments of their battle amidst focusing on the major fight occurring on the island. We also witness the other crew members as they prepare for escape and confront other adversaries.
In contrast, this episode indicates a future confrontation between Luffy and Kizaru in two years, though the circumstances will be altered due to Luffy’s incredible power-up. Luffy’s boldness when facing off against Kizaru suggests that we won’t see a replay of the Sabaody Archipelago Arc’s tragedy. Given the anime’s practice of adapting one chapter per episode with exceptional animation quality, viewers can anticipate an extended version of their fight, which should provide more screen time for Zoro to shine.
