So, on September 22nd, right there in the Big Apple of New York, our esteemed nobility of foreign ministers from Japan, the US, and South Korea decided to play together in the sandbox. Naturally, we’re all buzzing about cybersecurity, economic muscle, and the wondrous world of artificial intelligence-they are big on that jazz!
The brainy meeting spent a nice chunk of the day talking about putting the squeeze on North Korea’s recent fancy trick of swiping cryptocurrency. These diplomatically inclined colleagues also pondered a little evening tea discussing cutting down Pyongyang’s nuclear ambitions and missile escapades, not to mention the ever-so-durable links of supply chains and fancy newfangled tech partnerships.
Ministers Scribble Notes on Crypto Thievery and Electronic Pikers
Our foreign ministers, bristling with determination, laid down the law about facing those North Korean cyber ninjas who are always playing three-card monte with everyone’s money to stash away funds for their glittering nuclear toys. The infamous Lazarus hacking group alone has pinched a cool few billion dollars in 2025-skedaddling through de-fi platforms and messing with smart contracts like it’s wiper and ink on a Sunday School paper.
Did I mention these sturdy regular get-togethers, almost as habit forming as a politician’s promise, have been a regular occurrence since the annals of two thousand and ten? They provide the perfect setup for the free exchange of face palms and strategies alike!
Bolstering Economic Bravado & AI Brainstorms
Beyond the shadowy digital duels, the ministers nodded sagely, nodding to the need for bulletproof supply lines for shiny minerals and AI that might one day dream of electric scones. AI’s got its sights on conquering the wilds of innovation and security, with talk of joint research and a rather pleasant idea of unified standards.
And lest we forget, our trio warmly affirmed the idea of joining forces to handle the menacing whisper of collaboration between Russia and North Korea, all for that nostalgic endeavor of finding Kim Jong-un’s long-lost moral compass once and for all.
Met with Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi and Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Cho Hyun. This robust little club, known to some as our three amigos, is crucial for ushering in that elusive peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific and to keep the economic train chugging along dreamily on schedule.

National Plans for Swashbuckling Cyber Shielding
This time around, every country continues to dance its solo waltz in cyber fortification, all the while sticking together closely, like those long-lost siblings at a mountain cabin.
The US Treasury’s OFAC makes a hobby out of hunting the spectral traces of those sneaky crypto mixers and wallet addresses. Meanwhile, the FBI is more active than a beehive in spring, setting off on expeditions to recover these pilfered assets.
South Korea goes all stealth with anti-money laundering measures for its crypto exchanges, whipping up an automated watchdog for suspicious transactions and broadening their academy for cybersecurity knights.
And in Japan, their National Police Agency, teamed up with the Financial Services Agency and the Cabinet Cybersecurity Center, are just as fascinated with peeking at crypto exchanges as a cat staring at a laser pointer, sending ripples of intel to their American and Korean comrades. They’re cranking up those joint drills and using dishpan-handling mutual intelligence to detect and tackle the sneakiest of cyber ruffians.
