Move over, Wild West! The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is rolling up its regulatory sleeves and getting ready to wrangle those unruly crypto critters, says Commissioner Hester Peirce.
Last Friday, the SEC corralled a herd of regulators, legal eggheads, and crypto cowboys for the first ever “Crypto Task Force” pow-wow. Peirce, a crypto cheerleader since way back, is all about this newfangled approach to digital dough.
Peirce says the Crypto Task Force is like a shot of espresso for the SEC’s crypto regulation game. The team’s all jazzed up, ready to cook up a practical plan for the crypto corral.
The commissioner gave a big thumbs-up to the roundtable shindig, where everyone was chomping at the bit to hash out the nitty-gritty of crypto’s legal limbo, market mayhem, custody kerfuffles, and public offering parties. This task force, fresh off the presses this year, is on the case!
