It wasn’t surprising, but the new James Bond game, 007 First Light, has entered the UK’s physical game charts at a strong position.
It’s now the top-selling game, surpassing LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Chris Dring from The Game Business reports it had the second-largest launch in the country this year, following Resident Evil Requiem.
This data reflects physical game sales, but it probably mirrors overall sales performance. Considering the game sold 1.5 million copies in its first day, it’s clear the new James Bond title is a hit with players.
The vast majority of physical game sales – 86 percent – are for the PlayStation 5, which isn’t unexpected.
LEGO Batman has dropped to second place on the chart, and Resident Evil: Requiem is climbing to third.
Both Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and Mortal Kombat X have climbed back into the top 10 most popular games. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is currently fourth, and Mortal Kombat X is eighth, likely boosted by the recent movie release.
Here’s the latest top 10 in full (physical sales only).
