While many expected either Starfield or Pragmata to reach the top of the PlayStation Store’s best-selling PS5 games list, neither has. Crimson Desert currently holds the #1 spot, followed by Pragmata at #2. Surprisingly, Starfield landed in 5th place, with NBA 2K26 and Crimson Desert taking the 4th and 3rd positions respectively.
Sony announced that MLB The Show 26 was the best-selling game on the PlayStation Store in the US for April. Here’s the rest of the top ten, starting at number five: Content Warning, Grand Theft Auto V, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, Minecraft, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The PlayStation exclusive game Saros came in at number eleven, which is impressive since it was released on April 30th, late in the month.
European PlayStation Store Chart Is a Bit Different
The PlayStation Store charts differ between the United States and Europe. While MLB The Show 26 is the best-selling game in the US, it’s not popular in Europe. Instead, EA Sports FC 26 takes the top spot there, reflecting Europe’s passion for soccer. The rest of the top ten European sellers are: Crimson Desert, Grand Theft Auto V, Starfield, Pragmata, Minecraft, Hades II, Content Warning, UFC 5, and Resident Evil 4. Another game, Saros, came in at 17th place. When combining both regions’ data, Crimson Desert was the overall best-selling PS5 game on the PlayStation Store for April, maintaining its position from the previous month. MLB The Show 26 has now been the #1 game in the US for two months in a row.
These sales numbers are specifically for the PlayStation Store on PS5 and cover only the month of April. They don’t include purchases made from physical retailers. This can boost a game’s ranking if it’s only available digitally, like with titles such as Content Warning, Hades II, and Mouse: P.I. For Hire. Conversely, retail versions can help games that are sold both ways. However, since most popular games are available in both formats, this effect isn’t usually significant.
