10 Avengers Movies We Want to See After Doomsday & Secret Wars

After the upcoming *Avengers: Doomsday* and *Avengers: Secret Wars* finish the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios will definitely continue to adapt storylines from the comics into future *Avengers* films. These movies will be the fifth and sixth *Avengers* installments in the MCU, following *The Avengers*, *Avengers: Age of Ultron*, *Avengers: Infinity War*, and *Avengers: Endgame*. *Secret Wars* will wrap up the Multiverse Saga, and while it’s expected to introduce new teams like the X-Men, Marvel Studios will almost certainly bring the Avengers back for more adventures.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has already brought several major Avengers storylines to life on screen, including their fights against Ultron and Thanos, and the internal conflict seen in *Captain America: Civil War* – which felt like an Avengers movie in many ways. There are still countless other great Avengers stories from Marvel Comics that fans are eager to see adapted for the big screen. Given the events of *Doomsday* and *Secret Wars* in the comics, these stories could be a natural fit for the next phase of Avengers movies from Marvel Studios.

10) Avengers vs. X-Men

There’s been talk that the upcoming Marvel movies, *Doomsday* and *Secret Wars*, might borrow ideas from the 2012 comic event *Avengers vs. X-Men*. That story famously had the Avengers and X-Men fighting each other with the powerful Phoenix Force involved. While it would be exciting to see a battle between the MCU’s Avengers and the returning X-Men in Phase 6, fans would likely prefer a more faithful adaptation of the original comic. *Avengers vs. X-Men* had a huge impact on the Marvel Universe, and a similar retelling could be just as significant for the MCU.

9) Siege

The 2010 comic event *Siege*, which capped off the *Dark Reign* storyline, featured Loki tricking Norman Osborn and his Dark Avengers into launching a massive attack on Asgard while it was located on Earth. This event was known for its intense and shocking moments, and fans would love to see it adapted for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Norman Osborn potentially set to appear after *Secret Wars*, the stage could be set for the creation of the Dark Avengers, ultimately leading to a *Siege* adaptation – especially considering *Secret Invasion* already hinted at a war with alien forces in the MCU.

8) Avengers Forever

Rick Jones is a significant Marvel Comics character who hasn’t yet appeared in the MCU. A story from 1998, *Avengers Forever*, involved Jones traveling through time to assemble an Avengers team to fight a version of Kang the Conqueror called Immortus. This storyline would be a great fit for the MCU’s current Multiverse Saga, allowing Jones to gather different versions of classic heroes from across the multiverse. Even if not used in this saga, it could still work well in a future phase (like Phase 7 or later), particularly if Kang remains a major threat.

7) Original Sin

After less successful appearances in *Secret Invasion* and *The Marvels*, adapting the 2014 *Original Sin* storyline would be an ideal way to revitalize Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury within the MCU. The *What If…?* animated series already established Uatu the Watcher, and Uatu’s death is central to the *Original Sin* plot. The story would involve Fury reassembling the Avengers to solve Uatu’s murder, but the investigation—and what they witness through the Watcher’s eyes—would deeply traumatize them. This would create compelling conflict and psychological depth for the MCU Avengers, and finally allow Uatu to appear in live-action.

6) Empyre

Marvel’s 2020 comic event, *Empyre*, featured a massive alliance between the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and others to fight off an invasion by the Kree and Skrulls. A movie adaptation of *Empyre* could be very successful where *Secret Invasion* fell short, especially as an *Avengers* film. This could be set up by introducing Teddy Altman (Hulkling) and his partner Billy Maximoff (Wiccan) into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. *Empyre* offers a chance for Marvel Studios to move past previous issues and create a truly significant, game-changing event for the MCU.

5) West Coast Avengers

While not a direct adaptation of a specific Marvel comic storyline, it would be fantastic to see a future *Avengers* movie feature the West Coast Avengers. With several team members – or potential members living in Los Angeles – already introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing characters like She-Hulk, Ant-Man, and Shang-Chi together as the West Coast Avengers would be a great move. Just like in the comics, where the team was created to broaden the Avengers’ reach nationally, the MCU could use this team to do the same.

4) Kang Dynasty

Originally, the next big Avengers movie, announced in 2022 as *Avengers: The Kang Dynasty*, was intended to wrap up storylines from *Loki* and *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania*. The villain, Kang the Conqueror (played by Jonathan Majors), and his different versions were going to be the major threat to Earth and the Avengers. However, due to legal issues with Jonathan Majors, Marvel quickly changed plans. There’s still a chance that the character of Kang could be played by another actor, and the story of *The Kang Dynasty* – a major event from Marvel Comics back in 2001 – might eventually make its way to the big screen.

3) Midnight Sons

Just like the West Coast Avengers, a team called the Midnight Sons could appear in a future *Avengers* movie. Marvel has been introducing several heroes and antiheroes with supernatural abilities, hinting at the arrival of the Midnight Sons. However, it’s still unclear who will be on the initial team. The Midnight Sons first came together in Marvel comics in 1992 to fight Lilith, a powerful demon – and she’d make a great villain for a supernatural *Avengers* film. Fans are hoping to see characters like Doctor Strange, Blade, Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, and Jennifer Kale join the MCU’s version of the team.

2) Young Avengers

For years, fans have predicted new superhero teams will appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Young Avengers are consistently among the most talked about. In *The Marvels*, Ms. Marvel hinted at forming a team with Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye, and the introductions of characters like Wiccan, Speed, Stature, America Chavez, and Ironheart suggest the initial roster. While we don’t know exactly when the team will officially come together, many hope to see a *Young Avengers* movie after the events of *Doomsday* and *Secret Wars*.

1) Civil War II

Fans already saw Captain America and Iron Man clash in the 2016 film *Captain America: Civil War*, and now many are hoping to see Iron Man face off against Captain Marvel in a movie based on the 2016 Marvel Comics event, *Civil War II*. That comic series featured Iron Man and Captain Marvel leading opposing sides after a troubled Inhuman named Ulysses Cain began making disturbing predictions. With Marvel confirming that *Avengers: Secret Wars* will essentially reboot the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there’s a chance we could see a new Iron Man, the introduction of Inhumans, and the perfect setup for a *Civil War II* storyline.
