Right now, it’s hard to find a better anime than *Gachiakuta*. It’s been receiving a lot of praise, and deservedly so! The show offers a fresh take on the revenge story, features compelling characters, and builds a fascinating world. Plus, the action gets more impressive with every episode, making it easy to understand why both fans and critics are so enthusiastic about it.
Released in 2025, *Gachiakuta* is a highly-rated anime, and like many excellent shows, it’s complemented by other fantastic anime. If you enjoy these similar titles, it’s likely you’ll appreciate *Gachiakuta* even more.
10) Chainsaw Man
In the anime *Chainsaw Man* by MAPPA, the main character, Denji, nearly dies but merges with his pet devil, Pochita, transforming into the incredibly powerful “Chainsaw Man.” He’s then recruited by the government to work as a professional Devil Hunter, and despite the risks, this job might finally give Denji the normal life he’s always wanted.
Though *Chainsaw Man* and *Gachiakuta* are quite different, they both share a dark atmosphere that makes their action scenes intense and exciting. This style is consistently engaging, and it’s effective in both series.
9) Deadman Wonderland
In the anime *Deadman Wonderland*, Ganta Igarashi is wrongly convicted of murder and imprisoned in a bizarre, privately-run facility. This prison, Deadman Wonderland, isn’t what it seems – it’s a place for people with the unique ability to turn their blood into weapons. Ganta, who possesses this power, must battle for his freedom and uncover the truth behind his false conviction.
Similar to *Gachiakuta*, *Deadman Wonderland* offers a dark and intense story about a fight against those in power. While it might not be as complex as *Gachiakuta*, it shares enough similarities to appeal to fans of that series. It’s still a very enjoyable show, even years later.
8) The Law Of Ueki
Studio Deen’s *The Law of Ueki* tells the story of 100 powerful beings who each give a child a unique superpower. These children will then compete to decide who becomes the next Celestial King. The winning child gets to choose any talent they desire, and Kosuke Ueki, whose power is recycling, is determined to win to ensure the prize doesn’t end up with someone who would misuse it.
I absolutely love how unique the power system is in *The Law of Ueki*! But it’s not just cool powers – the series has a really strong message about protecting the environment, thanks to Ueki’s ability to recycle, which reminds me a lot of what *Gachiakuta* is all about. Honestly, *Ueki* feels like a more lighthearted version of *Gachiakuta*, and it’s just a really enjoyable watch.
7) Attack On Titan
In the anime *Attack on Titan* produced by MAPPA, humanity’s defenses are breached by monstrous, man-eating Titans after a hundred years of peace. When Eren Yeager loses his family to these creatures, he vows to eliminate all Titans, unaware of the complex challenges that lie ahead.
Both *Attack on Titan* and *Gachiakuta* share compelling similarities – strong protagonists driven by anger at a rejecting world, and a constantly unfolding mystery. These elements make either series easy to get invested in. *Attack on Titan* is often considered one of the best anime ever made, and it’s not hard to understand why.
6) Dandadan
Science Saru’s Dandadan follows Momo Ayase and Okarun, who gain supernatural powers after a frightening encounter with spirits and aliens. Unfortunately for Okarun, he also loses his genitals! Together, they work to reverse this and battle any supernatural dangers they face, all while developing feelings for each other.
Both *Dandadan* and *Gachiakuta* are standouts among newer manga, thanks to their exciting action and interesting, unconventional characters. The popularity of their anime adaptations proves this point. With *Gachiakuta* ongoing and a third season of *Dandadan* on the way, now is the perfect time to start reading either series.
5) JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
David Production’s *JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure* is a story told in parts, following the exciting and unusual adventures of the Joestar family. Each member of the family earns the nickname “JoJo,” and the series shows them fighting against evil forces over many years. A key part of their battles involves special, supernatural powers known as Stands.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is famous for its unique and imaginative powers, and Gachiakuta really makes the most of that same creative energy, making the two a fantastic match. JoJo pairs well with many action anime, and with a Steel Ball Run anime on the way, fans have even more to look forward to.
4) Hunter X Hunter
In the anime *Hunter x Hunter*, Gon Freecss begins a journey to become a Hunter, hoping to find his father and experience the world. While he enjoys making friends and learning to use his special powers, called Nen, Gon quickly discovers that the world isn’t always a kind place.
Hunter x Hunter is an exciting adventure anime known for its imaginative fights and unique superpowers, making it a great match for Gachiakuta and its complex power system. Many consider Hunter x Hunter one of the greatest anime ever made, and its connection to Gachiakuta only strengthens that opinion.
3) Dorohedoro
MAPPA’s anime series, *Dorohedoro*, takes place in the Hole, a poor city where sorcerers frequently attack people to practice their magic. The story follows Caiman, a man with a lizard head and no memory of his past, as he tries to find the sorcerer who cursed him – a quest that turns out to be much larger than he initially thought.
Both *Gachiakuta* and *Dorohedoro* take place in worlds damaged by the actions of powerful, self-centered people. They also share a similar style – a blend of dark humor and genuinely touching moments. *Dorohedoro* deserves more attention, and with season 2 on the way, it’s a great time to start watching!
2) Fire Force
In the anime *Fire Force* by David Production, people live under constant threat from Infernals—powerful demons created when people burst into flames. The Fire Force, a special firefighting team with pyrokinetic abilities, battles these demons. Their newest member, Shinra Kusakabe, is a young man nicknamed “Devil” who appears to be linked to the world’s deeper mysteries.
Kei Urana, the creator of *Gachiakuta*, previously worked as an assistant to Atsushi Ohkubo, the creator of *Fire Force*. It’s clear that *Gachiakuta* shares the same creative spark as *Fire Force*, particularly in its characters, action, and storytelling. In fact, Ohkubo himself named Urana as his successor after *Fire Force* ended, and the connection between their styles is readily apparent.
1) Soul Eater
In the anime *Soul Eater*, monsters are a real and present danger, particularly to witches. At Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA), students train to become either a Meister or a weapon, learning to work together. By achieving ‘soul resonance,’ they amplify each other’s strengths to effectively combat these monsters, all under the direction of Lord Death.
If you enjoy *Gachiakuta*, then *Soul Eater* is the anime you should definitely check out. Both series were created by Atsushi Ohkubo, and *Gachiakuta* clearly carries the same wild, energetic style as *Soul Eater* in its action and storytelling. No other anime feels quite as similar to *Soul Eater* as *Gachiakuta* does.
