10 Best Jujutsu Kaisen Episodes to Rewatch Before Season 3

I’m really excited for the new season of Jujutsu Kaisen – it’s coming out in less than a month! It’ll first air in Japan, and then fans around the world will be able to watch it on Crunchyroll. The show is based on a popular manga, and it follows Yuji Itadori after he ends up with a powerful curse inside him, leading him to attend Jujutsu Tech. Even though the manga finished its run last year, the anime still has quite a bit of story to tell. This season will pick up after the intense Shibuya Incident, showing us the fallout and how everyone prepares for something called the Culling Game – basically a huge battle royale planned by a villain named Kenjaku.

To build excitement for the upcoming season, the anime Jujutsu Kaisen released a special called Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution. This special includes a recap of the Shibuya Incident arc and the first two episodes of Season 3. The new season premieres on January 8th, 2026, with a special one-hour episode that will show the first two episodes. While fans wait, here’s a list of ten of the best Jujutsu Kaisen episodes to enjoy.

10) Season 1 Episode 24

The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen ends with intense battles and wraps up a particularly strong, yet often overlooked, story arc. The first-year students face a much more challenging mission than they did previously, but they’ve also become significantly more powerful. In this final episode, Yuji and Nobara team up to fight Eso and Kechizu, while Megumi successfully defeats a powerful, special-grade curse on his own. A highlight is when Yuji and Nobara combine their abilities to use Black Flash and overcome the Death Paintings.

9) Season 1 Episode 19

Yuji is rapidly improving as a sorcerer, learning valuable lessons and exceeding his limits in every fight. The series highlights a fantastic partnership between Yuji and Aoi Todo, a student from Kyoto’s Jujutsu Tech, who proves crucial in battling Hanami. Todo’s unique abilities not only make him an ideal teammate but also allow him to teach Yuji the powerful Black Flash technique. These lessons from Todo are instrumental in Yuji’s development, ultimately shaping him into the sorcerer he becomes.

8) Season 1 Episode 7

The latest episode of the anime caused a huge buzz when Satoru Gojo showed everyone his eyes and the incredible power behind them. Even when facing a particularly strong and unknown curse, Gojo remained confident and in control. He brought Yuji along to the fight against Jogo, giving him a firsthand look at what it means to be the most powerful sorcerer. The battle with Jogo went exactly as expected, with Gojo winning decisively using his Domain Expansion – the most advanced Jujutsu technique. However, the curse managed to escape due to an interruption from Hanami.

7) Season 2 Episode 13

Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen was consistently excellent, feeling like a movie in almost every episode. This episode continued that trend as Choso, seeking revenge for his brothers, confronted Yuji. He initially dominated the fight with his powerful Blood Manipulation, but a sudden, unexpected memory stopped him from delivering the final blow. The episode hinted at a deeper connection between Choso and Yuji, stemming from Kenjaku’s manipulations.

6) Season 1 Episode 20

Whenever Gojo Satoru appears in an episode, it’s usually a standout, and episode 20 of Season 1 was no exception. While students from Tokyo and Kyoto schools were under attack by Hanami, Gojo was rushing to break through a protective barrier. Once he arrived, he quickly defeated the curse user responsible for it. Realizing Hanami was trying to flee, Gojo unleashed his incredibly powerful Hollow Purple technique, obliterating everything in its range.

5) Season 2 Episode 20

After the devastating events in Shibuya, where many people died, Yuji was completely broken. He felt responsible for the thousands of casualties caused by Sukuna’s rampage, and was deeply traumatized by witnessing the deaths of Nanami and Nobara. Just as he was about to lose hope, his friend, Aoi Todo, showed up and gave him the encouragement he desperately needed. This led to an incredibly fierce battle, where both Yuji and Todo pushed themselves to their absolute limits to defeat their opponent.

4) Season 2 Episode 4

Everyone always believed Gojo was the strongest, but he once suffered a significant loss. Toji Fushiguro cleverly exploited Gojo’s exhaustion, nearly defeating him. When Gojo recovered, he discovered Riko was gone and Suguru had fallen. This experience made Gojo fully understand just how powerful he was, and how utterly alone at the top he truly stood.

3) Season 2 Episode 21

The battle between Yuji and Mahito wasn’t just a physical fight, but a conflict of beliefs. Mahito made Yuji question his assumptions about fighting curses, pointing out that both sides saw their actions as normal. Ultimately, Yuji resigned himself to his fate as a simple tool for eliminating curses, accepting that he exists solely to fight them, no matter how many appear. This episode showcases Yuji’s development as a sorcerer, forcing him to confront and accept the harsh reality of his role in a brutal world.

2) Season 2 Episode 9

Everything changed for the worse in Shibuya, and Japan would never recover. The plan was for Gojo to handle everything himself, but when Kenjaku possessed Suguru Geto, Gojo hesitated. That brief moment was all Kenjaku needed to imprison Gojo. With Gojo trapped, the other sorcerers had to fight, but the situation in Shibuya rapidly spiraled out of control.

1) Season 2 Episode 17

The fight between Sukuna and Mahoraga is considered one of the best in recent anime, and the animated version was particularly impressive. The episode caused a huge reaction from fans, who greatly appreciated the animators’ work even though production faced difficulties. Sukuna briefly took control of Yuji’s body and, during that time, fought Mahoraga to try and save Megumi, causing widespread destruction in the Shibuya Ward.
