10 Best My Hero Academia Pro-Hero Designs, Ranked

In “My Hero Academia“, while it’s about young heroes rising up and transforming hero society, the professional heroes frequently capture attention, sometimes unwittingly. Characters like Bakugo, Deku, and Todoroki certainly have devoted followers, but over the past few years, the pro-heroes from “My Hero Academia” have also earned significant fan bases of their own. A major factor contributing to their popularity is their distinctive and imaginative appearance designs.

I’ve always been captivated by Kohei Horikoshi’s art, but it’s his unique take on pro-heroes that truly sets his work apart. You might think superhero concepts have been done to death in the world of comics and animation, but My Hero Academia never fails to surprise with its innovative character designs. The pro-heroes, in particular, are a testament to this creativity.

10) Snipe

From where I stand, while Aizawa often basks in the limelight among U.A.’s distinguished pro-heroes, there’s an unsung hero who deserves more recognition – Snipe. His design sets him apart, seemingly overshadowing Aizawa with his enigmatic mask, cowboy-style attire, and a majestic cape that flows behind him, reminiscent of a classic Western hero. He even sports a cowboy hat and ornamented boots adorned with spurs, making him an extraordinary figure to behold.

9) Gang Orca

In the anime “My Hero Academia”, numerous heroes and villains boast fascinating abilities and distinctive styles, but few capture attention as effectively as Gang Orca, also known by his real name Kugo Sakamata. As suggested by his hero name, Gang Orca’s quirk, Orcinus, transforms him into a killer whale-like creature, yet he confidently embraces his ability and appearance. It’s safe to say that no other character rocks a suit quite like Gang Orca within the world of “My Hero Academia”.

8) Kamui Woods

In the popular anime “My Hero Academia”, one character whose design often goes unnoticed yet deserves more recognition is Kamui Woods. Although he debuted as early as Chapter 2, he has largely remained in the shadows throughout the series. Unfortunately, the anime adaptation of the manga doesn’t fully capture Kamui Woods’ potential, with his appearance in the manga’s epilogue providing a glimpse into just how stylish and impressive his design could be.

7) Edgeshot

In terms of anime character designs, you can hardly make a mistake by creating characters resembling ninjas, as proven by the character Edgeshot from My Hero Academia. Although he was introduced later into the series, Shinya Kamihara, also known as the Ninja Hero Edgeshot, has swiftly attracted his own fanbase due to his striking design. This fanbase has only expanded following Edgeshot’s selfless act for Bakugo during the Final War.

6) Hawks

In the world of My Hero Academia, I can’t help but notice that Hawks stands out among the fans as one of the most beloved characters. A significant factor contributing to this popularity is his exceptional design. From his striking spiky hair to his endearing goatee and distinctive inner corner eyeliner, there’s no denying that Hawks is a sight for sore eyes and easily ranks as the most handsome pro-hero within the series. Even when compared to Jujutsu Kaisen’s Gojo Satoru in terms of charisma and style, Hawks more than holds his own, which is quite a feat given that both these anime heartthrobs are voiced by Yuichi Nakamura. It’s an amusing coincidence, isn’t it?

5) Mirko

In contrast to many shonen manga that either objectify their female characters or stick to traditional beauty standards, Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia breaks boundaries by giving its female heroes muscle. Although characters like Mt. Lady and Midnight are often associated with fan service, the unique diversity offered by Mirko is noteworthy, particularly in terms of her design. Mirko combines the typical cute bunny girl aesthetic with a powerful “muscle mommy” vibe, which fans have adored immensely.

4) Best Jeanist

In the world of “My Hero Academia,” it’s undeniable that no character stands out more fashionably than Best Jeanist. With approximately 278 named characters, he truly shines brightest in terms of style. Since his debut, he has embraced denim with a passion, reflecting the Y2K trend of real life, making him a trailblazer in fashion. To lighten the mood, one could say he’s been living in a denim era. However, when we turn our attention to Best Jeanist’s design in the series’ conclusion, it becomes evident that this may be his most impressive look yet. In fact, Horikoshi’s illustrations of him at the end almost give off a supermodel vibe.

3) Endeavor

Despite the fact that fire-based superheroes like the Human Torch from the Fantastic Four and Sunfire from the X-Men might seem familiar, My Hero Academia’s Flame Hero, Endeavor, manages to make an impression of his own. Opinions among fans are split regarding whether Endeavor’s character should be forgiven and redeemed, but his design has definitely earned him a lot of admirers. His flaming eyes and stylish hero suit are distinctive and contribute significantly to his formidable, authoritative image. Although he might seem straightforward, these features make Endeavor truly unforgettable.

2) Monoma

In the anime “My Hero Academia,” fans haven’t witnessed Monoma, Class 1-B’s student, transitioning into a pro-hero just yet. However, his design in the manga’s final chapter is so stylish that it demands attention. As a pro-hero, or the Phantom Thief, Monoma sports a slicked-back middle part hairstyle with watch face earrings. Despite sounding quite unusual, Monoma carries this look off impressively well. In fact, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that he had the most impressive transformation among all U.A. students in the epilogue.

1) Armored All Might

In the anime “My Hero Academia,” All Might’s appearance remains largely consistent beyond mere aging. His typical hero costume is recognizable within the series and beyond, though it might not be considered particularly innovative in terms of design. Yet, this very lack of flashiness makes Armored All Might stand out significantly. By transforming All Might from “My Hero Academia’s” Superman to a more brooding Batman, the mechanical suit gives him an edgier look than ever before. This armor also enables All Might to rejoin the fight against All For One in one final, epic battle, even without a quirk.

Season 8 of My Hero Academia releases on October 4th, 2025, and can be streamed on Crunchyroll!
