With so many anime series available, it can be tough to find something new to watch. It’s especially challenging to find a show with a satisfying conclusion. Many popular anime are very long, which can be intimidating. Luckily, shorter anime series can be just as engaging, and they often tell a complete, consistent story without dragging on for years.
Many popular, long-running anime like Naruto and Bleach have faced criticism for their endings, leaving some fans unsatisfied. Shorter series, while often overlooked, generally deliver more satisfying conclusions and feel like a better use of viewers’ time.
10) Summertime Rendering

I started watching this supernatural mystery recently, and it immediately grabbed my attention – I knew it was going to be good. It all begins with the death of Shinpei’s friend, Ushio. While everyone says it was an accident, something about the marks on her neck doesn’t add up. As Shinpei investigates in their quiet town, he quickly realizes a dark secret is lurking beneath the surface, and it’s putting everything he cares about at risk.
9) Kids on the Slope

Before MAPPA gained international recognition with hits like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, the studio created a number of lesser-known gems, including Kids on the Slope. This touching story about growing up is set in the summer of 1966 and centers on Kaoru Nishimi, a quiet teenager who’s just started at a new school. Because his father’s job requires frequent moves, Kaoru avoids making friends, but he unexpectedly connects with Sentaro Kawabuchi, a rebellious drummer, and Ritsuko Mukae, a well-liked student leader.
8) Forest of Piano

The popular series, based on Makoto Isshiki’s acclaimed manga, will no longer be available on Netflix after September 8th, 2026. The show centers on Kai Ichinose’s growth, but also explores the challenges faced by Shuehei Amamiya as he strives to please others. Over two seasons, the story follows their paths, from childhood friends to rivals competing in a high-stakes musical contest.
7) Given

I’m completely hooked on this anime! It’s a really moving story about a boy band and the complicated lives of its members. It started as a short season and then continued with three amazing movies, all centered around Mafuyu Sato and the people he connects with. It’s so captivating to watch Mafuyu find his passion for music after meeting Ritsuka, all while carrying the weight of his past. Honestly, it’s a beautiful and emotional ride!
6) Violet Evergarden

Kyoto Animation’s series Violet Evergarden is famous for its beautiful animation and deeply emotional story. The series centers on Violet, a young woman who used to be a soldier and is now trying to live a normal life. Determined to understand human feelings, she becomes an Auto Memory Doll, a job that allows her to connect with people’s stories. But she soon discovers that learning about others’ pain and emotions is far more difficult than she imagined.
5) Takopi’s Original Sin
4) Samurai Champloo
3) Assassination Classroom
2) Cowboy Bebop
1) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
