Spider-Man, also known as Peter Parker, is arguably the most recognizable superhero ever created and a symbol of Marvel Comics. Because he’s so popular, Marvel has developed many other heroes with spider-like powers. Beyond Peter, there are now dozens of Spider-People across the main Marvel universe (Earth-616) and the wider multiverse, each with their own distinct personalities, histories, and abilities. Some were directly inspired by Peter to become heroes. While initially resembling the original Spider-Man, many of these characters have become popular and integral members of Marvel’s superhero team.
The Marvel Universe is full of heroes with spider-like abilities. Many of these heroes share similar powers, including super strength, quick reflexes, a special sense that warns them of danger, and the ability to climb walls. Some, like Spider-Man, also use gadgets to shoot webs, allowing them to swing around and capture criminals. These heroes form a popular and powerful group known as the Spider-Family.
10) Agent Anti-Venom

Flash Thompson began as a bully to Peter Parker in high school, but they later became friends in college. Flash then served in the army, where he tragically lost both legs. He was later chosen to bond with the Venom symbiote, becoming a powerful military asset known as Agent Venom. As Agent Venom, Flash used the symbiote’s powers for heroic purposes, joining teams like the Secret Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. After a part of the symbiote was exposed to a dangerous chemical, it changed, reversing its colors and creating Agent Anti-Venom. Now, Flash combines the symbiote’s abilities with his military experience to defend the world against threats like Carnage and the forces of Knull.
9) Araña

Let me tell you about Anya Corazón – she’s seriously cool! She started out as a regular teen, but her life completely changed when she got caught in a battle between these amazing, but dangerous, groups – the Sisterhood of the Wasps and the Spider Society. This spider sorcerer named Miguel saved her, and she ended up with this incredible spider tattoo that basically turned into a super-strong exoskeleton, giving her spider powers. She actually lost that armor in a fight with a really powerful villain called Doomsday Man, but that didn’t stop her! Anya kept fighting crime, using her skills in gymnastics and martial arts. Then, during this crazy event called “Spider-Island,” she got infected with a spider virus that gave her powers similar to Spider-Man’s! Oh, and she’s also a total whiz with computers – a seriously skilled hacker – and she’s really popular online, too. She’s just a really well-rounded hero, honestly.
8) Silk

Peter Parker wasn’t the only one affected by the radioactive spider. His classmate, Cindy Moon, was also bitten. A mysterious hero named Ezekiel, aware of Cindy’s new powers, secretly trained her to defend herself against a dangerous enemy called Morlun, who hunts people with spider-like abilities. Years later, after Peter defeated Morlun, he found Cindy, who had been hiding. With Morlun gone, Cindy emerged as the superhero Silk. She possesses all of Peter’s powers, but with the added ability to create her own organic webbing. Readers quickly embraced Cindy’s exciting adventures and relatable challenges, making her a popular addition to New York’s community of spider-powered heroes.
7) Spider-Girl

Spider-Girl, also known as Mayday Parker, started as a fan-favorite ‘what if?’ story – imagining a life where Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson’s daughter survived. From Earth-928, Mayday inherited her father’s spider-powers and has been a teenage crime-fighter for years. She’s played a key role in major events like Spider-Verse and Spider-Geddon, teaming up with Spider-People from different realities to defeat villains like Morlun and the Inheritors. Ultimately, Mayday represents a poignant reminder of the family Peter Parker might have had.
6) Spider-Man 2099

While Peter Parker is the Spider-Man we know today, Miguel O’Hara is the Spider-Man of the future, specifically the year 2099. Miguel was a gifted scientist whose unethical company purposely made him addicted to a dangerous substance to keep him working. Trying to break this addiction, he accidentally gained spider-powers. However, Miguel’s abilities aren’t quite the same as other Spider-People. He has retractable claws, incredibly sharp vision, naturally produced webbing, and fangs that inject a paralyzing venom. Uniquely, he doesn’t have Spider-Sense. He’s also known for being very serious and straightforward, which often causes friction when he meets Spider-People from different realities.
5) Madame Web

Julia Carpenter has taken on several heroic roles throughout her career. First appearing as the second Spider-Woman, she later became known as Arachne, and is currently the second Madame Web. Her powers came from being part of a super-soldier experiment. Unlike most Spider-People, Julia’s abilities are psychic, letting her create webbing using her mind. After the original Madame Web, Cassandra Web, died, she passed her psychic powers to Julia. This connection to the Web of Life and Destiny – which spans the entire multiverse – has given Julia the power to see the future, teleport across realities, read minds, and project her consciousness. Julia is now a key figure among all the Spider-People in the Marvel Multiverse.
4) Scarlet Spider

The villain Jackal created Kaine as his first attempt to clone Spider-Man, but the process resulted in a flawed and mentally unstable being. Kaine initially fought against both Peter Parker and Ben Reilly, another clone believed to be the better version of Spider-Man. Though Ben Reilly was the first to be known as the Scarlet Spider, Kaine later took on that identity after Ben lost his mind and became the villain Chasm. Despite being an imperfect clone, Kaine is incredibly strong and has unique powers like an acidic touch and the ability to foresee the future. His journey—battling inner demons, overcoming his resentment towards Peter and Ben, and ultimately becoming a hero—makes him a standout character from the complicated “Clone Saga.”
3) Ghost Spider

In the primary Marvel Universe (Earth-616), Gwen Stacy tragically dies at the hands of the Green Goblin. But in another universe (Earth-65), it’s Gwen, not Peter Parker, who gets bitten by a radioactive spider. This version of Gwen becomes a superhero, eventually teaming up with Spider-People from across the multiverse as part of the Warriors of the Great Web. Her compelling stories, engaging personality, and unique look quickly made her a popular character. She became so beloved that Marvel brought her into the main Earth-616 universe, where she formed a close friendship and partnership with Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Initially known as Spider-Woman, she later changed her name to Ghost-Spider to distinguish herself from other heroes with the same title.
2) Spider Woman

Jessica Drew was the original Spider-Woman. As a child, her father attempted to save her from uranium poisoning by adding spider DNA to her genes. Later, she was tricked into working for the villainous organization Hydra, with orders to eliminate Nick Fury. Once she discovered she was on the wrong side, Jessica dedicated herself to heroism. While she shares many abilities with other Spider-People, she’s notably stronger. She can also generate powerful blasts of energy called Venom Bolts and briefly glide through the air. Jessica has a long history with both the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D., and currently juggles her life as a superhero with the responsibilities of being a single mother.
1) Spider-Man (Miles Morales)

Miles Morales is quickly becoming one of Marvel’s most popular heroes, taking on the role of Spider-Man for a new generation. Originally from another universe, he gained powers after being bitten by a special spider. When the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, passed away, Miles stepped up to carry on his legacy. Miles has all of Peter’s classic abilities, plus unique powers like invisibility and the ability to generate electricity. His heroic nature is so strong that even a powerful villain, Molecule Man, spared Miles, his family, and friends when their universe was destroyed, touched by a single act of kindness Miles had shown him. Now, Miles has arrived in the main Marvel universe and continues to be a courageous and selfless hero, proving himself worthy of the Spider-Man title.
