Although elements such as plot, character development, and setting are crucial, it’s dishonest to deny that how a production looks impacts its overall mood and appeal.
Numerous anime productions have failed to impress due to their poor adaptation or misinterpretation of the original source material. Having a studio with a track record of successful titles like Wit Studio, renowned for works such as Spy x Family, Attack on Titan, and Vinland Saga, holds significant value beyond mere praise. In this compilation, we’ll be focusing on Wit Studio, and if you’re a fan of the shows listed (Spy x Family, Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga), stay alert for their upcoming One Piece remake!
10) The Rolling Girls

Later on, he enlists himself into the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, an organization established with the mission to safeguard humanity against the encroaching vampire threat.
8) My Deer Friend Nokotan
Titled “My Deer Companion Nokotan,” this humorous, day-to-day life anime integrates magical realism elements to enrich its heartwarming narrative. Originating in 2024, the debut season spanned across 12 episodes. Despite its unique nature compared to similar shows, “My Deer Companion Nokotan” has earned praise from viewers for its original wit, captivating chaos, and distinct visual style. The series presents an unconventional scenario of a human interacting with a deer in a school environment, sparking curiosity about their coexistence.
In the show, we follow the story of Torako Koshi, the central character who attends high school. On the surface, Torako appears well-mannered, but this veneer hides her past as a delinquent. Despite Torako’s attempts to keep her past hidden, things get complicated when Noko Shikanoko, a girl with deer-human hybrid characteristics, joins her school. With her heightened deer senses, Nokotan is able to sniff out Torako’s secret. This sets off a series of humorous situations as Torako works hard to keep her past from being exposed by her new friend.

In 2025, I stumbled upon a fascinating new take on science fiction anime – Moonrise. Released with a captivating 25-episode run on Netflix, this series delves deep into the complexities of political corruption, societal inequality, rebellion, and poverty. The animation and artistry are nothing short of breathtaking, and it skillfully intertwines its storyline within the intricate fabric of its future-focused world.
In this series, Earth’s administration has been overthrown by an advanced AI regime that focuses on wealth and harmony among its inhabitants. To preserve this utopian environment, lawbreakers and rebels are relocated to the Moon, where they encounter poverty, crime, and struggle. The central character is Jack Shadow, a man fueled by fury and a desire for retribution following his family’s murder at the hands of lunar insurgents. With dreams of someday avenging his loved ones, Jack enlists in an exploration unit to track down the Moon’s ruler and crush the rebellion once and for all.

5) Great Pretender
The anime titled “Great Pretender” has been drawing a lot of attention recently due to its vibrant, fast-moving narrative and tone. However, unbeknownst to Loid, his new spouse, Yor, is actually a skilled assassin, while their child, Anya, possesses telepathic abilities. Their mission involves enrolling in an elite school to reach Loid’s objective, but various comedic and complicated situations arise as they struggle to adapt to family life and maintain the facade of a functional family unit.
3) The Ancient Magus’ Bride
The anime titled “The Ancient Magus’ Bride” blends romance, fantasy, and mystery within its storyline. Released in 2017, it consists of two seasons with a total of 48 episodes. Although love plays a significant role in the narrative, the series delves into more profound emotional topics such as self-acceptance, establishing a sense of belonging, forging strong relationships, and living without remorse. At an auction, she is purchased by Elias Ainsworth, a potent sorcerer distinguished by his skull-like head. Elias aims to cultivate Chise into becoming a Sleigh Baggy – an individual capable of navigating the boundary between our world and the realm of magic. Through their association, Chise serves as both Elias’ apprentice and future bride, developing her powers and encountering various supernatural entities along the way.
2) Attack on Titan
As an observer, I’d say: “I’ve come across numerous anime over the years, but ‘Attack on Titan’, which first graced our screens in 2013, stands out as one of the most iconic of this decade. Often hailed as a modern classic, it effortlessly blends dark fantasy with elements of horror, drama, and action, making it a compelling watch. The series masterfully merges the shonen and seinen genres. Produced by Wit Studio for its initial three seasons, ‘Attack on Titan’ spans four captivating seasons in total. The narrative delves deep into themes such as the quest for freedom, corruption, the vicious cycle of violence, and prejudice.
The primary character we follow is Eren Yeager, a youth residing on an island named Paradis, where humanity has been confined within walls to secure them from the attacks of Titans – colossal creatures that devour humans. After Wall Maria gets breached, Eren’s hometown is devastated, and his mother perishes by a Titan’s hand. Spurred by his anger towards Titans, Eren chooses to enlist with his long-time friends in the Scout Regiment, seeking to repel the Titans and discover any traces of life that may exist beyond the walls. As they advance, Eren discovers he possesses the power to transform into a Titan himself; this discovery triggers an exploration into the reasons behind the Titan uprising and the true essence of their world’s nature.
1) Vinland Saga
The animated series known as “Vinland Saga” is highly acclaimed among contemporary seinen anime, often regarded as one of the top, most impactful experiences within the medium. Genre-wise, it blends elements of action, adventure, and historical drama. First aired in 2019 (with Wit Studios animating the first season, followed by MAPPA for the second), the series consists of 24 episodes in total. “Vinland Saga” reimagines the essence of Viking sagas within an anime framework, delving into themes like revenge cycles, war’s aftermath, and the capacity for redemption during one’s lifetime.
The narrative primarily revolves around Thorfinn, a young Icelandic man, whose father was brutally slain by Askeladd, the captain of a notorious group of Viking marauders. Driven by revenge, Thorfinn joins Askeladd’s mercenary band to track down his father’s killer. Through his time in this violent and grim environment, Thorfinn gradually comes to question his initial desire for vengeance and instead starts seeking a fresh purpose-Vinland, a mythical land of tranquility where he dreams of constructing a new society.
