As a gamer, I can tell you there’s always a ton of sci-fi games coming out. Just last year, 2025, we had titles like Metal Eden, Cronos: The New Dawn, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, The Outer Worlds 2, RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – and that’s not even everything! What’s cool is sci-fi blends with so many different types of games, from scary horror to fast-paced shooters to story-driven adventures. And honestly, 2026 is already looking packed with even more sci-fi titles covering all those genres and then some. It’s a great time to be a sci-fi gaming fan!
Here are just 10 upcoming sci-fi games coming out in 2026.
10) Gears of War: E-Day

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S and PC
Release Date: 2026
It’s been a while since a new Gears of War game – the last major release was in 2019, not counting the planned 2025 remaster. That makes Gears of War: E-Day particularly interesting, even though it’s a prequel. While some might be disappointed it’s not a sequel, The Coalition’s plan to tell a more personal story about the origins of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago could be a good thing. They’re aiming for a more emotional and relatable narrative, which might recapture the horror elements that were prominent in the original Gears of War games. Many fans would welcome a return to the series’ roots and the feeling of its early, strongest installments.
9) Saros

Platforms: PS5
Release Date: April 30th, 2026
Following the success of the surprise hit Returnal on PS5, Housemarque’s next game, Saros, looks poised to continue that momentum. This new bullet-hell shooter aims to be easier to pick up and play, but fans hope it retains the challenging gameplay that made Returnal so satisfying. A key question is how Saros will approach storytelling, something Returnal did exceptionally well and which greatly enhanced the game. Housemarque has been on a roll, and Saros appears likely to keep that streak alive.
8) Replaced

Platforms: Xbox Series X|S and PC
Release Date: March 12th, 2026
After a long wait, Replaced is nearly here, and for good reason. This exciting cyberpunk action game, with its striking pixel art, has generated a lot of buzz. It features a dynamic combat system reminiscent of Batman: Arkham, thrilling cinematic escapes, and a detailed world you can explore. With so much packed into the game, fans are hoping the extra development time has resulted in something truly special.
7) Pragmata

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2
Release Date: April 24th, 2026
Capcom has been on a roll lately, so any new game they create is worth paying attention to. While Pragmata took a long time to develop and faced several delays, the gameplay shown so far looks really good. The way the game combines hacking and shooting is unique and feels very smooth. The story might not be as strong, but the game seems to have that classic, polished Capcom gameplay feel that players love.
6) Halo: Campaign Evolved

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: 2026
Halo: Combat Evolved is being remade again, but it remains a core Halo experience. This original game is a classic that set the standard for first-person shooters on consoles. It’s no surprise that Halo Infinite drew inspiration from its unpredictable and open-ended combat. While Halo Studios is adding new content and making changes, even if not all of them succeed, it will give this remake a unique feel. Remakes are often most compelling when they aren’t afraid to deviate from the original.
5) Control Resonant

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: 2026
Wow, Control 2: Resonant is really doing something different! It’s a big change from the first game, ditching the shooting focus for something much more melee-based. Honestly, it’s giving me major Devil May Cry vibes, especially the way you can pull off these crazy, stylish combos. The levels are even starting to look like the really twisted sections from DmC: Devil May Cry – you know, those dark, unsettling parts. It’s a little risky after Firebreak wasn’t amazing, but I’ve got faith in Remedy. They usually deliver, so I’m willing to give them a chance with this new direction.
4) No Law

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: “Soon”
The cyberpunk game No Law generated a lot of excitement at The Game Awards. It appears to blend the fast-paced action of popular shooters with the immersive, player-choice elements of games like Deus Ex. Players will seemingly be able to approach situations with both brute force – like bursting into rooms guns blazing – or stealth and cunning, all within a detailed, technologically advanced future. The developers, Neon Giant, previously demonstrated their ability with The Ascent, suggesting they have the skills to deliver on this larger, more complex project.
3) Directive 8020

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: 2026
I used to worry that Supermassive Games was rushing out games, and you could really see it in the bugs and storylines. But their new game, Directive 8020, feels different. It was delayed for a while, and it seems like they really took the time to polish it. It’s a horror game inspired by The Thing – it’s all about aliens that can disguise themselves on a spaceship, which is a fantastic setup. That makes the choices you make in the story even more crucial! I’m a little worried their writing might not be strong enough, but because they had more time with this one, I’m really hoping it’ll be something special.
2) Aphelion

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: 2026
Don’t Nod, the studio behind the popular Life Is Strange series, is always trying new things. Their latest project, Aphelion, is a narrative-driven adventure with horror elements, set in space. The game features two different viewpoints and focuses on surviving a difficult environment, which are both promising ideas. While Don’t Nod has had some unsuccessful games in the past, Aphelion still has the potential to be a success.
1) Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
Release Date: 2026
Star Wars games are making a comeback, but it’s been a long time since we’ve seen a good Star Wars racing game. Star Wars: Galactic Racer aims to fill that gap. While the developers at Fuse Games have been a little unclear about specifics, they’ve promised lots of customization options, a story mode, and online multiplayer with unique races. Even without many details, the game is exciting news for racing fans, especially those who have been waiting for a Star Wars racing experience.
