Turning comic books into movies has been incredibly successful, and has given us some of the most memorable lines in film history. Even before the Marvel Cinematic Universe became a cultural phenomenon, comic book movies were popular. The timeless themes of heroes and villains work perfectly for big-budget action films, and comic book fans love seeing their favorite characters come to life on screen. Over the years, many fantastic comic book movies have created unforgettable scenes that have become a lasting part of pop culture.
The most memorable comic book movies often feature powerful scenes or moments that stick with viewers long after they’ve finished watching. While action-packed fights are fun, it’s often clever and well-written dialogue that creates truly iconic scenes. Some quotes from these movies are so famous, people recognize them even if they haven’t seen the film.
10) “Why So Serious?” – The Dark Knight (2008)

The Dark Knight trilogy is full of iconic Batman scenes, but a particular line delivered by Heath Ledger as the Joker is especially memorable. He repeats it throughout the film, and it perfectly captures the unsettling charm of his performance. This quote gets to the heart of what makes the Joker such a compelling villain in The Dark Knight, and it’s instantly recognizable because of it.
9) “I Can Do This All Day.” – Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Captain America has had many great moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but one quote from the Infinity Saga perfectly captures his entire journey. We first hear it when a young, unpowered Steve Rogers is getting beaten up, and it really highlights his unwavering determination and inspiring spirit. It shows just how remarkable Steve Rogers is, even before he becomes a super-soldier.
8) “Don’t Be What They Made You.” – Logan (2017)

The ending of Logan is considered a standout moment in X-Men films, featuring a poignant and heroic sacrifice by the titular character. Facing death, Logan shares a final, powerful message with his daughter, encouraging her to overcome the hardship she experienced growing up. This line reflects Logan’s own life regrets and serves as a deeply emotional capstone to his story on the big screen.
7) “You Get What You F***in’ Deserve!” – Joker (2019)

The 2019 film Joker quietly changed superhero movies by offering a dark and compelling look at a famous villain. A key moment happens during a live TV interview when Arthur Fleck starts telling a joke, then shockingly murders the host as the punchline. That joke has since become famous, perfectly capturing the character’s feelings of being ignored and forgotten in a single, memorable line.
6) “Avengers… Assemble.” – Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Many fans believe Avengers: Endgame is the best of the Avengers films, and while everyone has their own opinion, it’s packed with unforgettable scenes. Just when the battle seems lost, help arrives, giving the remaining heroes a much-needed lift. This leads to Captain America finally saying a line fans had been eagerly waiting for since the very beginning of the franchise.
5) “I’m Batman.” – Batman (1989)

As a huge Batman fan, I have to say Michael Keaton’s version just hits different. His first time on screen as the Caped Crusader back in 1989 was iconic, and that simple way he announced himself as ‘Batman’ is something everyone remembers. It’s one of those lines that’s stuck with audiences for decades, even if you haven’t seen the movie, you probably know exactly what I’m talking about! It’s instantly recognizable because of how he said it and the impact of that moment.
4) “I’m Always Angry.” – The Avengers (2012)

The movie The Avengers was groundbreaking, uniting the iconic heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time and delivering many memorable scenes. One of the most famous moments features Bruce Banner joining the Battle of New York. When questioned about how he manages his transformations into the Hulk, he famously quips, “I’m always angry,” immediately changing and powerfully striking a massive alien. This scene is a high point for the character and the Hulk, and the line itself has become incredibly popular even outside of the MCU.
3) “I Am Iron Man.” – Avengers: Endgame (2019)

The MCU has given us many memorable Iron Man lines, but the quote from his final sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame is the most famous. When Thanos calls himself inevitable, Tony Stark’s response cleverly echoes a line from the very first Marvel movie. This quote has become a powerful symbol of Iron Man’s heroic end, and it’s now even more significant than the scene it came from.
2) “You Either Die A Hero, Or You Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villain.” – The Dark Knight (2008)

A famous line from The Dark Knight has become a well-known part of pop culture. Harvey Dent’s quote about heroism has been used by famous people, politicians, and even turned into an internet meme. Because of this, the quote has become more than just a memorable movie moment – it’s become iconic on its own.
1) “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility.” – Spider-Man (2002)

As a huge fan of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films, I always thought they really set the standard for superhero movies, so it’s no surprise one line in particular has stuck with everyone. Uncle Ben’s last words to Peter Parker are just so powerful and have become a defining message in so many hero stories. It’s amazing how that one line has become famous even outside of comic book films – it’s truly one of the most memorable quotes from any superhero movie ever.
